I'm on the Lin route and yet... there was no third puzzle and I was immediately able to catch Giratina without the anomaly fight first. Does this have to do with Taka or something?

So, I'm in the postgame in the Subseven Sanctum Palkia/Dialga quest, and although I've hit both the green and purple Arceus statues, the gate won't open. Is this a bug or something? Am I supposed to see another cutscene before the gate will open?

Poliwag does not have any held items and neither Poliwhirl or Slowbro are available at my point in the game. Plus, Slowpoke do not have a chance of King's Rock, their only held item is Lagging Tail. Is there any point before they become available in the wild that you can get a King's Rock?
