Squirtle Disappeared? 😮

So I was doing the squirtle hunt and I got the place where the pokemon was, I saved right in front of it, it died to poison, and so I restarted my game. When I did so, the squirtle was gone! I don't know what I did or how, but am I able to see the squirtle again?

Is it still raining? I think it only shows up when it's raining in-game.

Maybe the weather changed? Or, did you try to enter/exit the nearest cave, just in case?

Nah it wasn't raining. I actually battled the squirtle. But when I restarted the game it was gone.

The weather didn't change, and I tried that. No luck.
