I forgot to claim my growlithe reward and now the chief is not there...

So i saved all the police officers, but I forgot to claim the growlithe from the station and directly fought pulse tangrowth and beat it. Now I went back to the station and the chief is not there anymore. Will I still be able to get the growlithe or is it unobtainable now?

Have you been to coreys gym yet ? You probably need to wrap up things there first before going back to the station.

Because you found all the police before fighting PULSE Tangrowth, and defeated it, you will not be able to obtain Growlithe until after you beat Corey.

Alternatively, if you had gone back to the police station before defeating PULSE Tangrowth, you would have been able to obtain Growlithe earlier.

Yeah the event ends after you complete a specific part of the story.

Don't worry though, I think all mystery egg mons are eventually going to be found in the wild or via some other event.

I know Pawniard, Cottonee, Elekid, Sneasel, Rhyhorn, Vulpix, and Phantump can be caught/found later on in the game.
