    Have you ever wished you could stay fully informed on the battlefield without committing the Reborn SinTM of using half pixels? Well wonder no more, my friend, because you have come to the right place! After starting, abandoning, resurrecting, and finishing this project, it is finally ready to ship! (at least as far as I can tell so far) Mission Statement I hate half pixels and so should you. The less of those the better. As you may have guessed from the intro line, my goal with this mod is to provide as much information in the battle UI while maintaining a half-pixel and jank free environment! In development and after achieving the main functions I originally set out to add, the scope has now expanded slightly to a general overhaul of the battle UI. The first quality-of-life feature that was added under this new mission is the implementation of unique Poisoned/Badly Poisoned icons, and more will be added when I get good ideas! (at least until I run out of screen real estate) Layout Overview Changelog Compatibility The only mods that I know for sure this is incompatible with are the SWM-TypeBattleIcons and SWM-ShowStatBoosts modules of SWM, since this mod is intended to be a direct replacement for them and they both modify the PokemonBattleBox class. IF YOU USE THIS MOD WITH SWM MAKE SURE YOU DISABLE THE TWO MODULES MENTIONED ABOVE! Aside from that, I am not aware of any compatibility issues but I will update a list here if/when they arise until I'm able to fix them, so let me know in the thread if you discover anything and can narrow it down to this mod. Installation [ LATEST VERSION ] Release v1.0.6 Direct Download Previous versions can be found here. Simply download the zip file from the releases page linked above (or from the direct download), unzip it, and merge the included Data/ folder with the Data/ folder in your Reborn install directory. It should be the folder that contains Game.exe. If you have any questions about this specifically, there are plenty of other resources on the forum and people active in the discord that can walk you through installing a mod, since they're all done the same way. Credits I just wanted to thank @Waynolt for their work on SWM, their scripts for ShowStatBoosts and TypeBattleIcons were very helpful as a jumping-off point for my own code since I was unfamiliar with the inner workings of Essentials scripting and with Ruby in general. (They also said I didn't even have to credit them, what a legend) Also, thanks to Ame and the rest of the Reborn team for the amazing game; you guys put in a lot of heart and I'm looking forward to the full release!

    serious post. it's been a bit over a year since i wrote the post announcing postgame. it's been about two years since e18 came out. people have been wondering things like "is the game dead?" and "where's e19?". while these sorts of questions tend to be a little annoying when asked reasonably near an episode's release date, we've reached a time when they become appropriate, legitimate questions. so let's talk about what's going on. the biggest thing is starlight. for those of you who do not know, ame is currently also working on Starlight Divide, a tRPG that will be her next game after reborn is done. she is developing it entirely from scratch. development for it began basically right after the story for e19 was finished/functional and it has been continuing pretty much since then. developing from scratch is hard. fangame development has a few advantages in that the mechanics have been laid out by gamefreak (for better or for worse) and essentials offers a base set of tools to build games from (for better or for worse). in no way does this imply that developing quality content is easy, but it is still fairly simple to pick up some tools and get going. starlight does not have that. after being worked on for a year, it has almost approached the point of being playable. and then there's an entire game that needs to be made on top of it. the reason starlight is an issue for e19 is because of timing. the original plan for development was something like: e19m -> starlight -> starlight demo release -> e19p -> e19 release. (i use e19m as shorthand for the main story and e19p as shorthand for postgame.) this order was decided for a lot of reasons. there's general reborn burnout, ame wanted to start a new project, hiding from the big N (hi reggy thx 4 ur mercy), it provides some amount of project continuity, among other things. this order was decided a year ago. i'll just straight-up say that, in hindsight, this was a mistake. i don't think we were expecting the demo to take so long, nor did we account for the development pressure of working on two games concurrently. not releasing new content for two years is a bit anxiety-provoking. at this point, the starlight demo is probably going to be finished first, so realizing that the development plan was a mistake isn't going to result in it changing. this is basically just an explanation for why things have taken so long. i also want to talk about progress bars. i've noticed that a lot of discussions about development (and this would also apply to rejuv and deso a bit as well) will occasionally include a mention of "the game is at X% and that means [something]!" in reborn's case, the thing that it "means" is that the game has hovered around 52% completion for a while and thus there has been no development on the game. that is not even remotely true. to be fair, i suspect that the people who assume there has been no development are also not reading anything i say here (including this! fuck.), but it also says something about what people think when they see the numbers on the little sidebar over there. ---> the progress bar numbers are made up. (by me, i should add.) the point of the progress bars is to offer a condensed look at what we've done and what we plan to do. the X% of the bottom is there to give some kind of impression of what the overall progress looks like. I sure don't fuckin know what the overall progress looks like. the progress bars are basically calculated by me looking at various aspects of the game and going "eh, sure, this can be 3% of the total!" and then adding up all those shitty guesses i'm making. the problem then is that the bars are structured around what we expect to be working on- which usually involves game content. none of those guesses involved MKXP, or the massive, ridiculous amounts of code cleanup we've been doing. that number probably isn't even going to move until the starlight demo come out since ame tends to work on the game content. there's more stuff that we're planning to do in the future that i also already know won't be represented in the progress bars. the X% at the bottom is practically lying to you. because of this, it's tempting to pull the bars down until reborn development picks up. in their current state, they're kind of a pain in the ass for everyone: i have to keep them up to date, they put pressure on the development team to overwork since there's a lot of stuff to do, and it makes everyone watching them impatient for the next release. (in fact, i think i just convinced myself that taking them down is a good idea and should probably be done.) we know that there's a lot of people hyped up for e19, and so I really want to make it clear that we will be playing everything regarding its development completely straight. when development picks up again I will tell you. when we're going to start testing soon I will tell you. when we're planning to do a community release I will tell you. (or, well, someone will. i've taken point on a lot of this lately but it won't necessarily be me.) so, in the interests of transparency... gen 8 i hope i don't regret this marcello wants to do it and i don't. that's the short version. the real version is a lot more complicated. will it be in e19? it is highly likely no. it'd involved redoing a lot of work that's been done on the game since e18 (much of which was done by me, hence my bias) and i think it'd be really putting way too much pressure on development/testing to implement it across the whole game. it'd also add on a lot of extra dev time to a release that is already massive. i say it's "highly likely no" because there are circumstances under which this may change, such as the current development slowdown stretching into next year and, thus, allowing some time for us to get everything implemented. the DLC may also influence this. will it come out after e19? maybe! it's still way too soon to talk about what happens after e19 since a lot can change between now and then, but I don't think there'd be any reason to avoid a DLC-esque update after the game is done. there's some other stuff we may want to do then, too (hard mode, maybe). i feel like there's more that I need to say... but i'm basically out of things to say. in short, don't panic. we're working on it.

Pokémon Vengeance, heavily inspired by Pokémon Reborn and Rejuvenation, takes place in the Verdiva Region, which consists of 3 main islands: - Deloria Island, the island on which the player begins their journey, is lush and full of forests, jungles, and mountains (and even a volcano). - Cryolysis Island is very cold and icy, and only consists of 1 city. It is very mountainous and not inhabited by many. - Dritari Island is very barren except for some areas in the Northeast. Stiffcrack Desert spans throughout this island, making it difficult to build many towns and cities inland, though there are some along the coast. You, the player, start in Goldsong Village. This quaint village is on the west coast of Deloria and is known for its beautiful autumn atmosphere. You are visiting your older sister, Aria, for the first time in many years, and are away from your home and parents in Graywave City. Your family, the Knight family, is known throughout the region due to everyone's amazing accomplishments. Your mother, Artemis, was a champion for a long time until her soon-to-be husband, Lucius, defeated her in battle. Even Artemis' sister, Hera, is well-known due to her Elite Octet status. Lucius and Artemis went on to have 3 children: Anthony, Aria, and you, the player. Anthony is known for his recent status as a Gym Leader, and he was at the top of his class at Darkleaf Academy. Aria, of course, went off to Kalos and earned her name as Kalos Queen. That leaves you. How will you earn a name for yourself? Will you live up to your family's reputation, or will you forge your own instead? How will you react when your perception of reality is shattered? How will you exact your revenge (or towards whom)? During your time visiting Aria, a tragedy befalls your parents at their home in Graywave City. Verdiva, no longer under the protection of their champion(s), is overcome with people competing for new control over the region. Two new organizations reveal themselves after this tragedy, but their goals and practices differ immensely. Team Regal wishes to seize control of Verdiva now that the two strongest trainers are gone and the region is in disarray. Team Celestial, on the other hand, wishes to prevent people from gaining too much power, because once someone is strong enough to capture legendary Pokémon, they have the ability to disrupt the natural balance and stability in the world, which has been seen countless times in the past. Ultra Space will also be a major focus of Pokémon Vengeance, and the player will be able to explore many aspects of it along his/her journey. You and Aria must become trainers so that you can avoid the fate your parents experienced and choose how to serve justice. Features: - 18 Gyms (one for each type) - Elite Octet (one for each stat) - Reborn/Rejuvenation-style Field Effects (updated and expanded, including 6 new fields as of now) - Choices/Actions affecting story - Gym Leader rematches (several) - Many new moves/abilities for existing Pokémon (available through tutor and hidden ability) - All Pokémon from Gen 1 to Gen 8 available by the end of the game (including IoA expansion) - Z-Moves - HM replacements - Improved Pokémon World Tournament - Custom Mega Evolutions Some of the early characters (art is not final): Aria You may remember Aria from the XY anime, and yes, this is the same one (albeit some years later). She may have seemed like a happy girl with a perfect life, but there's more of a story behind her. She was born in Graywave City and was pressured by Lucius and Artemis to become a Pokémon trainer. They made her attend Darkleaf Academy until she and her aunt Hera convinced them to allow her to go off to Kalos. Hera set up a mentorship for Aria with a woman named Palermo, with whom she was acquainted. Aria had a lot of fun there exploring how to use Pokémon for performing, though she moved back to Verdiva after rising to the top and having nowhere else to go from there. Unfortunately, so many years later, she still isn't on good terms with her parents when they disappear, which she comes to regret. Hera Hera is a wise, modest woman who is very kind and nurturing. Aria idolizes Hera for all the help she has given to her. Aria even moved to Goldsong Village just so that she could be near her. However, Hera is not to be underestimated, and has earned her position as a member of the Elite Octet due to her clever and unique battling style. Skyler Skyler is Aria's new boyfriend, as well as your brother Anthony's best friend throughout their time at school together. He is understanding and generous, and also has a passion for music, which is perhaps a reason Aria (as a performer) was drawn to him. Aria moved in with him after living with Hera in Goldsong Village for some time. Skyler is also the Flying-type Gym Leader of Goldsong Village. Pokémon World Tournament: The Pokémon World Tournament will take place in Jadeburn City, and will be available starting after only 3 badges. It is going to be a tremendous part of the game, and hopefully can be as entertaining as possible. All levels will be set to 50, irregardless of whether the player's Pokémon are above or below that level, which allows the player to have fun at any point in the game. The player will register trainers in a device known as the Tournament Pager throughout his/her journey, and you will see this starting right after you get your first Pokémon. The Tournament Pager will be used to register all trainers, including ones from other regions (which there will be quite a lot of). This means that they can all be found somewhere in-game, though many will only appear on certain days of the week. You can participate in the Pokémon World Tournament with anyone registered in the Tournament Pager, though more formats will be available as you register more trainers, progress in the story, and meet other requirements. I plan to include many different tournament formats, and here are some I already have planned (each of these formats will also have choices for either single battles or double battles, and either partial team or full team participation, but the Field Effect will be randomized unless otherwise stated): Screenshots from the game so far: New fields implemented (copied directly from Field Effect Manual, so I apologize for the awkward format): Note that this game is made with Pokémon Essentials. This game was made possible by RPG Maker XP and Pokemon Essentials v17.2 Trailer COMING SOON The team has been looking at the game currently and decided we need a trio of legendaries for our project, so we are calling on you! We are currently hosting a competition that will end on September 18th at 8 pm EST. This can be submitted with artwork, sprite work, or sketch! The top 3 winners of the contest will get a custom role in our server and a trainer in-game with the team and trainer sprite of your choice! Pokémon Tabula Rasa, inspired by Reborn and Insurgence, is a story driven fangame with 2 brand new regions! - The Anphelio Region, inspired by the word aphelion (or the point in the orbit of a planet, asteroid, or comet at which it is furthest from the sun). This region has a lot of similarities with it's name, as it is a snow covered tundra with little to no civilization. Mostly covered by routes and forests, this region gives you a lot of training and time to meet new faces who help to get you back to your once held glory. Many Pokémon from all over the world have descended from this region and here, you can find many of their different, undiscovered versions of themselves. These Pokémon are often shy and haven't come in contact with many humans. However, the ones that find civilization or Human population, get along with them very well. - The Pansperma Region is the mainland. The region flooded with tourists and Human population. This has really drove out Pokémon in these parts, especially near cities. As you go on throughout the region, you find power hungry corporations out for control over the region. To do this however, they need the most powerful trainers to be able to drive out all Pokémon in sight. In which doing so, makes room for more people in come in, leading to more money and power in the corporations. Here, you will find out who you truly were in the past and you may have to power your way through to get what you want for yourself and the Pokémon at stake. The sheer number of variety in Pokémon, people, and places you find along the way is incredible. This region has everything a person could ask for and is the reason why it's a huge tourist attraction. Story The game opens with you in a dark room with one other person. The person in question is a defectant researcher trying to help you return to safety. However, this researcher is undisclosed and nameless. He found you without anything. No Pokémon, no items, nothing, just you and your empty bag. He informs you that he and his fellow researchers and doctors were tasked with wiping your memory. He however, kept in on him and knew the potential you had to destroy Pokémon as we know it. He also tells you that you were the champion of the Pansperma region for 14 years. He says you that you were unmatched, beating legends like Red, Gold, and Hilbert without even breaking a sweat. As you hear a loud sound at the door, he tells you that there isn't much time left and he can't say too much. There is an urgent situation where the evil agency (Name still a WIP) has sent a task force to retrieve you and only you, dead or alive with no witnesses. He gives you a lead on where to go next as the task force breaks in and storms the building. He tells you to hide and not to worry about him. After this, you hear nothing. Fast forward 2 months, you are in a mysterious lab set in space above the planet. This gives the agency maximum security of you and their plans. The guards tell you that they have been closely watching the news and most of the Region presumes you are dead. The player is tasked with finding their way out, and taking down the agency at any cost, dead or alive. Note: Choices made throughout the story will affect the outcome of events and how the ending will play out. The Protagonists Story of the Two Regions Along the way you meet a strange professor who tells you he has seen you around before and knows your story. He brings you in and tells you that he knew the man who tried to save you from the (evil agency) and knows how to get your Pokémon back, your items however, are unobtainable. He plays as your guide and tells you the newest information on where your belongings are being held, along with the evil team's location. People throughout both regions will recognize you, but you will have no recollection on who they are or even who you are. The natives of both regions understand your godlike stature and will do anything to help you take back their region. This includes giving you tips, pointers, and even their own belongings. However, the Pansperma region's big cities are heavily guarded, so watch your step. The Meaning Behind/Why I chose Tabula Rasa Tabula rasa, the latin word meaning a "clean slate" or "scraped tablet." The bigger picture/driving narrative in this game being starting over from scratch, or Tabula Rasa. I really wanted to make a game where you were previously the champion, where you have to go through the region have once did, with no recollection of anything the regions have to offer. I'm already planning to make a sequel and prequel to these games, which already have titles. Those being Pokémon Prevenire and Pokémon Exigo. Prevenire meaning before hand/To come to and Exigo meaning complete or finished. Pokémon Prevenire will be in the style of FRLG/RSE and Pokémon Exigo will be in the style of Gen 5. However, if I am going to make that happen, I will need a team to do so, which is why I will also be putting a similar thread in the Team Recruitment channel. Leviathan: Thanks for having me! Sylveon: So care to tell us a little about yourself? Leviathan: Hmm, I have 2 brothers, I like books and games and I love Dragon Types and dragon Pokemon. Sylveon: I see are you close to your siblings and dragons? Leviathan: Well, one is a baby, the other is a moody two-weeks-from-13 boy. My dragons though amazing, very nice, and reliable. Sylveon: I see do you have one that you always rely on? Leviathan: Yes, Salamence, she used to be my ace, but now I let her take it easy, maybe she'll come back to battle. Sylveon: Related question from a viewer Flying Reserve Athena: Out of all your dragons, which do you find the most adorable? Leviathan: Tie between Goodra and Salamence, both are adorable maybe Goodra since its pink. Who doesn't love a pink goopy dragon? Sylveon: Another question from a viewer this time Steel Leader Beatrice: What is your opinion on Steelix? Would it technically count as a Dragon due to the number of Dragon Moves it gets? Leviathan: Not just by moves sure its a strange but lovable steel snake thing. But it kinda resembles a dragon. I mean that Mega there's some dragon vibes there at least I would say yes I think it could be one. But be what ya want to be Steelix. Sylveon: Interesting, interesting would you use it battle, would it even be useful on your primary field whatever it may be? Leviathan: I run glitch, so that means I'm losing out on some stab. On a glitch team? No. On a personal team? Absolutely. Like what does Steelix get on glitch? Stone Edge? Maybe double edge or something? EQ? That's pretty much all it gets. Sylveon: Earlier you mentioned a pink Goodra. Which intrigues me. By any chance are your dragons all shinies? Leviathan: Nope. Not Sal she's special, the others are. At one point I had a shiny Salamence on my team but it didn't feel the same. Sylveon: Ah ok do your dragons play a role in your time outside of battle? It would be pretty cool to ride a Salamence in your free time. Leviathan: I do ride Sal. Quite often in fact I usually take the others out too, stretch their wings and other limbs. Better with Sal though since she was my first dragon, so we know each other best. Sylveon: Grass Leader Sage asks: I must ask Sir Jayson on this fine evening. What was it that made you choose the way of the Dragon sire? Leviathan: Well a guy ya might know him gave me a Bagon and Deino. Bagon was not shiny, Deino was I thought they were super cool.     ~The Chaotic City of Nightmares~ Hey everyone! It's me this time, your local Postman! I wanted to make this blog post to talk about a certain area within the game that many players have struggled with.. and by struggled I mean getting lost in the vast lands known as Blackview City. A number of you have given feedback/complaints about how hard it is to navigate through the city, from searching for the crazy girl Emily to figuring out where the hell the Jinx Grid Teleporter is trust me it also took me a while to figure out where that was lol. So I took it upon myself to polish up the city. So firstly, to showcase the changes and my thoughts into going about this, here's a map of Old Blackview: I'm gonna keep them in spoiler tags because well, Blackview is massive and I don't want to flood this post lol. Anyways as you can see, the main issue with Blackview was that, well the layout was extremely clunky with paths leading to dead ends to a lot of clutter around the centre, its no wonder people got lost around here. The city is suppose to have this chaotic nature about it which is why when I looked to give it a the polish up, I wanted to keep this feel about it! This was a bit of a challenge but after discussing with the team, this is what I came up with as a concept: I wanted to divide Blackview into 4 "main streets" with alley ways going in-between, this way it would help to keep this feel of a chaotic city which was our vision, while helping to tackle the issue players have been struggling with. And for the big polished up reveal.. this is what Blackview looks like now: its probably best to just, open both images in tabs and clicking between to have a better view of the before and after pics. This polish up took a bit of time to sort out, considering I didn't want to start from scratch with the map, due to overall eventing and the map itself was fine, it just needed a little 2020 polish up since this map is well.. 4 years old now? To conclude, this isn't the complete final design, we are looking to potentially implement something else to help navigation around Blackview. Other than that, development is going at a reasonable pace, I've just finished up a set of maps for Episode 6 and looking to start the next set soon Speaking about development, Caz has updated his Patreon with some spicy Episode 6 content! Last time, the ranks of the Discord Warriors expanded to include two more fighters. The one known as the Abyss Reaper, a handsome bloke from across the pond who valiantly offered his services in the defense of our fair city. He is soft-spoken but nonetheless a formidable fighter and valued member of the team. In addition, yours truly resumed his former post after a 3-year anime timeskip/training session that left me more powerful than even I could have imagined. This time, however, I come to you with bittersweet news. Our dear @Azeria stepped down from his post and is dearly missed, but his departure left room for the ascension of another: @Ceratisa has been gifted great power and even greater responsibility as our newest moderator. Their power may even eclipse my own... We expect great things from them and I, personally, expect to be #roasted at least 30% more now but y'know what? Challenge accepted, Scrub-atisa jk Cera ily ! In addition, we've added a sort of part timer to the staff; one by the name of @Aeodyn. They're not a full mod, but they are here to help us out with troubleshooting and tech support whenever the need should arise. Welcome to the force, noble warriors! In addition, we sacrificed three channels (Hivemind, SwSh, and Online-play) to tribute summon Slifer the Sky Dragon in attack mode!! a new guide channel for Pokemon Desolation, developed by our local Postman (@Posty). Fairly straightforward; if you got questions about Deso, that's where you go to get 'em answered. Somewhere in Japan, Marie Kondo is smiling knowing that we got rid of something that no longer sparked joy in our lives. Really spruces up the place, non? Lastly but certainly most importantly, we've implemented a new rule change to our disciplinary guidelines that require me to shift into Srs Brave Mode to explain. We're all familiar with Warning Points and what happens when you accumulate a certain number of them. The new rules are as such: 3 Warning Points = 1 Week Mute 5 Warning Points = 3 Week Mute/Extended mute until total active WP count drops below 3 7 Warning Points = Eligible for community banishment Additionally, a muted user is able to appeal their mute and have it lifted earlier, depending on the severity of the offense that earned them the punishment in the first place. I know I don't have to say this since this is usually the case but, everyone, remember to respect your fellow community members and be on best behavior. Doesn't mean you can't still be chaos goblins, tho. With that said, I believe that's everything on the docket.     Grew out the rest of my beard during quarantine. It seriously took 3 or 4 months to grow out long enough so it didn't look terrible anymore. Took this picture right after I got my second haircut since quarantine started.
