    Hey, Rejuv fans. I'm back from quarantine and I'm in second year of college. I have a theory about Madame X. She been asking "How many times are you going to make this little girl suffer?" "How many times are you willing to put her through this chaos?!" then she called Maria then saying " No matter what happens. Don't you dare lose hope. Don't lose who you are and don't you dare forget what's about to happen. But she made a choice not to kill Maria. In the alternate timeline she teamed up the MC and Melia and she knew about the interceptor. So who on earth is Madame X. Is she an ally that we have met or never heard of, is she just a puppet in someone else's schemes or is she someone who the MC fought before?     I just want to preface this thread by giving a big thanks to the Reborn community for checking out the game. At the request of a few people, I'm making this thread to officially post about Apex. Pokémon Apex is a more serious and narrative-focused take on the classic formula. Apex is developed with the adult fan in mind, particularly for those who want a more challenging and story-driven experience. The game's difficulty, while not punishing, pressures the player to make conscientious choices about their playthrough. The game is packed with smaller details that reward patient players and those that enjoy taking in their environment. Story In Pokémon Apex, you play as a high schooler in the bustling metropolis of Nascene City. You manage to struggle through the drudgery of day-to-day life by playing video games and hanging out with your best friend. However, one day something unexpected happens. On the way to school, you somehow find yourself in a strange world inhabited by creatures called “Pokémon.” It isn’t long before you discover a dark cult who are hell-bent on causing the destruction of both worlds! It’s not your responsibility to stop them, but for some reason they just keep targeting you. Who are they? What do they want with you? What is this strange world, and how does it relate to your world? Find out in Pokémon Apex! Features Pokémon Apex is a game that puts the story first. This means that not only does the protagonist have their own voice, but everything you do furthers their development and the progression of the plot. Apex aims to break free of the tired tropes of the main series Pokémon games, with many unconventional changes. On a basic level, the gameplay is what you have come to expect from Pokémon games, however things are spiced up with stat and move rebalancing, amongst other tweaks. All fully-evolved Pokémon will have a base stat total of at least 400, and all Pokémon will be able to evolve without trading. When completed, the game will contain 100% custom tilesets, character sprites, and music. The Project Pokémon Apex is created in RPG Maker XP with Pokémon Essentials. The game began development in December 2014 before going on hiatus shortly thereafter due to time constraints. However, development resumed around the end of 2015, and has been going strong ever since. Pokémon Apex is currently in ALPHA, meaning that it is not complete, and you may find bugs, however there is currently at least 10 hours of gameplay in the latest release. Currently, I am the sole developer, however I do have a few contributors helping with music and character art. I am looking for contributors to help with full-screen artwork and battle backgrounds.     Oooh Theories! Ok so my theories. Madame X is stronger than all her Pokemon combined. She is capable of using a sword and doesn't need the use of her pokemon. She has access to the legendary Pokemon of destruction, Yveltal. My first thought was Griselda since she seems the warrior type however, imo she seems to give off the aura of having Giratina as shown through her events of opening the treasures in wispy path. So I don't think its her, but I could be wrong because she has black hair and maybe red eyes? Ok Nora. I thought it was Nora also because seeing as her soul was erased by accident. Honestly this is still up for debate as we have yet to meet or see her, for ourselves. Although in WLL it looked as though she was turned into stone when the hooded pokemon pushed her and Taelia to their deaths and only Yveltal is capable of doing so, but if that's true how did she survive? Again, up for debate. (BTW you put Nora's name twice for votes) Now we go to one of my favorite people, Melia/Marianette and yes I'm using both blonde's in this. So Marianette, I can't come up with theories for this since Madame X approached her way back when so that's out. MELIA. Ahh Melly Belly. Sooo something about her I find extremely interesting. Team Xen is after her because of the light inside her that's been somewhat established. She is able to purify/bring things to life possibly using her power as seen in v10. So based on what we know from Pokemon XY, Xerneas the pokemon of life is able to bring people, plants, pokemon to life if you aquire it. Yveltal the pokemon of destruction able to destroy/turn people and pokemon to Stone. What does this stand? Madame X weilds Yveltal, Melia possibly weilds Xerneas or Arceus via her Golden light. So what does this tell you? Personally speaking Idk who Madame X is. It could be anyone, or someone we may have come across. But I'm guessing either Nora or an evil version of Melia who has lived through the same hell that storm 9 has inflicted and is in an infinite loop of failure. This my theory!

    After three years, this is no longer a dream. Just got it up and running today, using the latest patreon build of Joiplay. Some loading time, but music, battles, cutscenes and sfx all work smoothly for me. This is not a joke, a hoax or a scam. I'm serious. Reborn is now fully playable on android devices. On monday, the patreon links will go public, but I'll post the links to the MEGA folders here. 30some megabytes in total, two apks, and no internet needed when setting up. Pokemon Reborn fully working on Android.. Just a random heads up to anyone interested. Pokemon fangames are now playable on android with the latest patreon build of Joiplay. App and RPG Maker plugin are needed. Both can be downloaded as apks from the Joiplay patreon and installed. About 30 mbs for both combined. Does not require internet. Pokemon Reborn fully working, tested about seven hours so far with a single bug and minor lag on my Essential PH-1. Pokemon Metal working without problems. Pokemon Island has minor bugs. Pokemon Uranium working with bugs that will be fixed in next update. Should be a week or so. Do note that how well the game works depends on your phones RAM and processor. A common bug is the tiles not loading if your phone's processor is too low-end. I have a mid-end phone, with 2.5GBs RAM and a Snapdragon 835 processor and it works with only very, very minor lag. Save files can be sideloaded in from the PC version to continue playing on the go. Just copy the Game.rxdata from the Reborn PC folder to the one in your android storage. Instructions (links below): - Download and install both apks. One is the actual Joiplay app, the other is the RPGMaker plugin. - Open the Joiplay app. - Click the Add Game icon. - Enter the name, then navigate to the unzipped Reborn folder on your phone and select the .exe. - Click the Add button. Click on Reborn's icon and play. Button on the top left drops down the keys, can be customized. Minor issues: - Reborn will not work if loaded from a .zip file. Must be opened folder. - Crashes if you chose Quit Game. - Some battle animation lag depending on phone and processor, can be fixed by using Fast Forward.     Hello everybody! First of all, Reworld is not dead! There's progress but currently pretty slow. What have I been doing? Well, Covid-19 took my motivation for like anything, it was very boring and I neglected Reworld. But now I'm back with new news. You might expect something about E2 but no. Instead of developing E2 I'm remaking E1. New tiles, new graphics, new maps, polished dialoges, etc. Most of the updates happen on Discord though. So, you working again on Reworld? Yeah, but Germany doesn't care much about Covid, so school is back and sport activities as well. And it's taking much of my time and such a big change really takes your energy.     The devs have actually finished Episode 19 itself and the postgame is all they have left to complete (which will be released along with E19 for various reasons). But it's also gonna be a pretty long time until they're done so it would be best to not get too anxious for it at this time.

    Posted it before on wrong thread... whoops. sorry for that. A bit blurry because I needed to compress so it will be the right size. These games are just amazing, each one in it's own way and has it's own strong point: Reborn: characters. Between Julia, Randomus, Taka, and my hate for Fern, I think this game has the best charcters. Rejuvenation: Gameplay. Took Reborn's gameplay and upped it. More fields, crests, puzzles, side quests and even new attacks. It adds so much, but doesn't feel out of place. Desolation: Story. Damn, the story of this game is awesome! the option to choose your decisions and the whole part of who to trust is just amazing. Thanks for creating these!

    It's been awhile, so I've decided to make an important announcement: I now work for the Department of Defense and am now making a healthy salary, which has put me in a much better spot than I was last year. Most of what I make will be put towards bills, savings, etc, while the rest will be put towards my game's annual budget. I've been working hard on the game, but I've also been feeling pretty demotivated and burned out lately. Mainly due to me being home all the time and not being able to get out as much. You'd think I'd get a lot more done with the massive amount of time I've had, yeah? Hahaha, no. In fact, I've been slower because of all of this.(More of this rant below!!!) Depression.png Because of that I've taken a week off. Like... actually. An entire week. I've done nothing. Man did it feel awesome. (Afterwards, during the break I was bored as hell.) Imagine that. Taking genuine breaks HELPS your motivation and mood. ???? Sounds fake, but okay... Anyway. I've switched my focus to working primarily on v13 story content. I feel like if I have that out of the way, releasing v13 will feel... Idk. Possible? *Cough* Well, it's the end of August. That means we're all going back to school... Huh? You're done with school? Y-You graduated? Well... Courtesy of me, I've re-enrolled you! Who's ready for a new semester of dreams and nightmares?? You are!I ---REJUV MK UPDATE--- As well as working on main content mostly, @andracass helped us create our own MK build! Starting V13, Rejuv will have MK support. There are still a few things that need to be ironed out, but things are looking really promising! As for Mac support... We have something for that too! Mac users won't be left out B). ---Puzzle time Baybeee--- One thing I've been trying to do in past areas is add more puzzles. Most of these puzzles aren't difficult. They're just there to add some sort of interactivity in places that have gameplay luls. I've created some things that I'm proud of, but coming up with puzzles in RPGMaker seems impossible to me sometimes. I'm the first one to admit that I'm not excellent at making them, but I would like to be! If you guys have any puzzle concepts to share, I'd be happy to hear them! I beg you. ---When is V13 dropping?--- Short answer: Still trying for this year. Long Answer: My goal is to have it out by the end of the year, but that's still only 3 months from now. I've seen people get annoyed with me because of the long wait, but I assure you no one is more annoyed than I. Like I said in the beginning of this post. I've been burned out and unmotivated all year. I'm not going to sit here and lie about my productivity. I said I've been working hard on the game, it's true. But that wasn't the case for the majority of the year. There were days where I would do one event and just feel done. I've felt guilty about it, but I've also just felt numb to the fact that I pretty much just vegetated this year. Everytime I felt like things were getting better, things would knock me down another peg. It's been a cycle since February. Aghjgfsghskjlghsdgjds;jgsdh; I've read articles about how this isn't a problem exclusive to me. Working productivity for tons of people have been almost 0 this year. With circumstances I don't have to repeat because we all know-- It's just difficult. I just try to tell myself that next year will be better. Whether that's a blatant lie or not doesn't matter. It's there for a sense of purpose. If I can sum up this year for me in one image, it'd be: and that's all it is. That being said, we've gotten progress up to 71%!! Even though most of that is bloated because of a lot of smaller things getting done... It still looks nice and is a motivating factor for me! Still have a lot of sidequests to do and I have to finish the main story (Which is over 50% done now!). Alright that's enough rambling. I'm done. I promise. Rejuv v13 hopefully drops this year. If not, early 2021. Definitely not any later than that. Then onto v14... Ha. HAhahahaha. I can't wait for v14.

    ~The Chaotic City of Nightmares~ Hey everyone! It's me this time, your local Postman! I wanted to make this blog post to talk about a certain area within the game that many players have struggled with.. and by struggled I mean getting lost in the vast lands known as Blackview City. A number of you have given feedback/complaints about how hard it is to navigate through the city, from searching for the crazy girl Emily to figuring out where the hell the Jinx Grid Teleporter is trust me it also took me a while to figure out where that was lol. So I took it upon myself to polish up the city. So firstly, to showcase the changes and my thoughts into going about this, here's a map of Old Blackview: I'm gonna keep them in spoiler tags because well, Blackview is massive and I don't want to flood this post lol. Anyways as you can see, the main issue with Blackview was that, well the layout was extremely clunky with paths leading to dead ends to a lot of clutter around the centre, its no wonder people got lost around here. The city is suppose to have this chaotic nature about it which is why when I looked to give it a the polish up, I wanted to keep this feel about it! This was a bit of a challenge but after discussing with the team, this is what I came up with as a concept: I wanted to divide Blackview into 4 "main streets" with alley ways going in-between, this way it would help to keep this feel of a chaotic city which was our vision, while helping to tackle the issue players have been struggling with. And for the big polished up reveal.. this is what Blackview looks like now: its probably best to just, open both images in tabs and clicking between to have a better view of the before and after pics. This polish up took a bit of time to sort out, considering I didn't want to start from scratch with the map, due to overall eventing and the map itself was fine, it just needed a little 2020 polish up since this map is well.. 4 years old now? To conclude, this isn't the complete final design, we are looking to potentially implement something else to help navigation around Blackview. Other than that, development is going at a reasonable pace, I've just finished up a set of maps for Episode 6 and looking to start the next set soon Speaking about development, Caz has updated his Patreon with some spicy Episode 6 content!     This year has been pretty rough. I have struggled with demotivation throughout this whole year. Seeing the game getting closer to a 100% gives me motivation to keep going. I really love Rejuv, but I love the developers even more for working so hard on this game, despite the circumstances. Stay safe, stay positive and help eachother through these tough times!

    All of your (and everyone else's) hard work is very appreciated! Your health is more important than getting new verisions out a month earlier. One thing that I've found really helpful to stay sharp and motivated during these tough times is to try to find the willpower to get regular exercise. The hardest part is making the decision to do it, but after you start doing it then it's a breeze. You don't realize how sluggish your mind and body are until you get the blood flowing. And even if you want to look at it from a raw mathematical standpoint, the increase of efficiency and productivity during the rest of the day as a result of exercise far outweighs the time spent exercising. Speaking of which, typing this out has made me decide to go for a run right after I'm done with this post. As far as puzzle ideas go, I'll admit this is taken from Pokemon XD, but I always thought the Battle CDs concept was cool. If you don't know what those are, they're simulated battles where you're given a specific Pokemon/couple of Pokemon, and you have to battle a specific Pokemon/couple of Pokemon in a singles or doubles battle. These battles require a you to figure out the right strategy/sequence of moves in order to win, and it essentially turns the battles into puzzles to find the right solutions. What's great about these are that they require you to use mechanics that you don't normally see, such as using Gust to hit a Pokemon during the Fly turn. Here is example of one of them (this was before Ghost-types were immune to Shadow Tag): Making these battles occur on all sorts of fields would add a lot of variety. You could easily come up with creative puzzles, such as requiring the player use a move to change the field as the "solution" to win the battle.     serious post. it's been a bit over a year since i wrote the post announcing postgame. it's been about two years since e18 came out. people have been wondering things like "is the game dead?" and "where's e19?". while these sorts of questions tend to be a little annoying when asked reasonably near an episode's release date, we've reached a time when they become appropriate, legitimate questions. so let's talk about what's going on. the biggest thing is starlight. for those of you who do not know, ame is currently also working on Starlight Divide, a tRPG that will be her next game after reborn is done. she is developing it entirely from scratch. development for it began basically right after the story for e19 was finished/functional and it has been continuing pretty much since then. developing from scratch is hard. fangame development has a few advantages in that the mechanics have been laid out by gamefreak (for better or for worse) and essentials offers a base set of tools to build games from (for better or for worse). in no way does this imply that developing quality content is easy, but it is still fairly simple to pick up some tools and get going. starlight does not have that. after being worked on for a year, it has almost approached the point of being playable. and then there's an entire game that needs to be made on top of it. the reason starlight is an issue for e19 is because of timing. the original plan for development was something like: e19m -> starlight -> starlight demo release -> e19p -> e19 release. (i use e19m as shorthand for the main story and e19p as shorthand for postgame.) this order was decided for a lot of reasons. there's general reborn burnout, ame wanted to start a new project, hiding from the big N (hi reggy thx 4 ur mercy), it provides some amount of project continuity, among other things. this order was decided a year ago. i'll just straight-up say that, in hindsight, this was a mistake. i don't think we were expecting the demo to take so long, nor did we account for the development pressure of working on two games concurrently. not releasing new content for two years is a bit anxiety-provoking. at this point, the starlight demo is probably going to be finished first, so realizing that the development plan was a mistake isn't going to result in it changing. this is basically just an explanation for why things have taken so long. i also want to talk about progress bars. i've noticed that a lot of discussions about development (and this would also apply to rejuv and deso a bit as well) will occasionally include a mention of "the game is at X% and that means [something]!" in reborn's case, the thing that it "means" is that the game has hovered around 52% completion for a while and thus there has been no development on the game. that is not even remotely true. to be fair, i suspect that the people who assume there has been no development are also not reading anything i say here (including this! fuck.), but it also says something about what people think when they see the numbers on the little sidebar over there. ---> the progress bar numbers are made up. (by me, i should add.) the point of the progress bars is to offer a condensed look at what we've done and what we plan to do. the X% of the bottom is there to give some kind of impression of what the overall progress looks like. I sure don't fuckin know what the overall progress looks like. the progress bars are basically calculated by me looking at various aspects of the game and going "eh, sure, this can be 3% of the total!" and then adding up all those shitty guesses i'm making. the problem then is that the bars are structured around what we expect to be working on- which usually involves game content. none of those guesses involved MKXP, or the massive, ridiculous amounts of code cleanup we've been doing. that number probably isn't even going to move until the starlight demo come out since ame tends to work on the game content. there's more stuff that we're planning to do in the future that i also already know won't be represented in the progress bars. the X% at the bottom is practically lying to you. because of this, it's tempting to pull the bars down until reborn development picks up. in their current state, they're kind of a pain in the ass for everyone: i have to keep them up to date, they put pressure on the development team to overwork since there's a lot of stuff to do, and it makes everyone watching them impatient for the next release. (in fact, i think i just convinced myself that taking them down is a good idea and should probably be done.) we know that there's a lot of people hyped up for e19, and so I really want to make it clear that we will be playing everything regarding its development completely straight. when development picks up again I will tell you. when we're going to start testing soon I will tell you. when we're planning to do a community release I will tell you. (or, well, someone will. i've taken point on a lot of this lately but it won't necessarily be me.) so, in the interests of transparency... gen 8 i hope i don't regret this marcello wants to do it and i don't. that's the short version. the real version is a lot more complicated. will it be in e19? it is highly likely no. it'd involved redoing a lot of work that's been done on the game since e18 (much of which was done by me, hence my bias) and i think it'd be really putting way too much pressure on development/testing to implement it across the whole game. it'd also add on a lot of extra dev time to a release that is already massive. i say it's "highly likely no" because there are circumstances under which this may change, such as the current development slowdown stretching into next year and, thus, allowing some time for us to get everything implemented. the DLC may also influence this. will it come out after e19? maybe! it's still way too soon to talk about what happens after e19 since a lot can change between now and then, but I don't think there'd be any reason to avoid a DLC-esque update after the game is done. there's some other stuff we may want to do then, too (hard mode, maybe). i feel like there's more that I need to say... but i'm basically out of things to say. in short, don't panic. we're working on it.

    Well good news for you! Because today we are dealing with line breaks. A sort of intermezzo if you will. Line breaks are a pain in the butt cheeks, because there seems to be no rhyme or reason to their existence. You can change the words before the line break and it will disappear. Okay, seems logical enough. You can add words after the line break and it will disappear. Okay, what? And until one of Ame's patreons looked into things, you could do nothing and they would randomly appear and disappear. RMXP are you drunk? When doing our optimization run (ha! still talking about optimization) I noticed something which I would've bet was the cause. Dear reader, always bet against me, for I was wrong. And then I found a line break while playing. And another. And yet one more. Time to actually look into things. After putting print statements down like no tomorrow, the following conversation between me and essentials happened: Memsplanation.mp4 See, the function in question is getFormattedText. And this function is over-engineered like no tomorrow. Want to left-align stuff? seems logical. Want to right or center align, this function got your back. Want to use the weirdest font you can find? No problem for this badboy. Want to add Icons? Make only one line right align? Okay please slow down. Color certain words? Add your own line breaks? A second way to add Icons? Want to try splitting the text? No, stop! And that one is the problem. getFormattedText decides to rerun itself when a condition is met. What that condition exactly entails, I still don't know. But to spice things up, getFormattedText quickly adds a \n in the middle of the string. Which in ruby is syntax for: start a new line. And when it is rerun, it starts another new line right before the word after which the \n is placed. That part of the function has officially been yeeted. We now are free after all this time of suffering.
