Lag on Mac (Using Wine)

Game is very laggy, had to reset a few times before Lower Peridot Ward would even load. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Any help is appreciated.

Edit: This seems to happen every time I enter a new area, as it is happening with Opal Ward as well.

it's an issue with rpgmaker itself, it's an old engine so lags happen often
if your mac is relatively new though, you could try using the fruit version of 18.4.1 in the downloads page and run the mkxp (newer engine) version, it's much faster
