Clate 0 Posted August 21 Share Posted August 21 (edited) When battling Techie Will in the Grand Hall, my level 88 Alakazam got knocked out by a single Heat Wave from Charizard. I thought this was weird because in the previous few battles, my Alakazam had survived with around 80 HP left, and I didn't recall seeing a critical hit. At first I thought maybe I just wasn't paying attention, but then the same thing happened again. When I ran it through the Smogon damage calculator, I saw the Heat Wave shouldn't have oneshotted it, even though my Alakazam doesn't have perfect SpD IVs and even with a Modest nature. Does the critical hit message sometimes just not display during a fast forward (though I don't think this would be the case, the recording is maybe the third or fourth time this happened)? Is Reborn's damage formula slightly different? Is the calculator wrong? Or is there something else happening that I just don't understand? I'm on the 18.4.1 Game-z, if that makes a difference. Lvl 85 252+ SpA Life Orb Charizard Heat Wave vs. Lvl 88 0 HP / 4 SpD Alakazam: 175-208 (78.8 - 93.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO Possible damage amounts: (175, 179, 181, 183, 185, 187, 188, 191, 192, 195, 196, 199, 200, 203, 204, 208) Also kind of unrelated but is Alolan Ninetales bugged online?
