Popular Post Octavius 87
Looking for that hidden gem of a fangame that's built like Reborn, Rejuv, Deso, or Insurgence? Then you're in the right place. Explore new improvements to outdated Pokémon, abilities, and even game mechanics as Empire breathes new life into old frustrations! Think Luxray should've always been Electric/Dark? Think Freeze should be more interactive? In Empire, the things you've always wished for in Pokémon are finally here! And as for our characters, story, and the world itself? Dark, realistic, mature themes driven by deeply personal characters arcs and relationships. See for yourself! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MzCTc-6EuN9QQRw735KpBN0uLp1V0pE2/view (google drive) Welcome to Telius, Challenger! Spoiler What is right and wrong? How do we address war, racism, education, politics, good and evil, and the human nature itself? And who gets to decide? Welcome to the Telius region, only months removed from a bloody civil war sparked by King Tobias II. A once benevolent man who ruled through the guidance of many noble families, he ushered in an era of prosperity and industry. But eventually he plunged the region into division and violence and in the end was overthrown by his own people. Amidst the ensuing turmoil, a new oligarchy of representatives has seized power, supported by the revolutionaries that overthrew the king's regime. This "Council" is now overseeing the reconstruction of the region and establishing a new Pokémon league of hand-picked leaders that oversee the various provinces of Telius. But even under this supposed new stability, old fissures remain. Many Telian citizens are resistant to change, harbor old grudges, and don't trust how this new league seeks to reshape their daily lives. Many remain loyal to the longstanding traditions of the old nobility. This nobility and their soldiers, now on the outside looking in, has adopted the moniker 'Team Royale' (pronounced like casino royale). Operating from the shadows and seeking to help Telian citizens on an individual level, they are intent on restoring the region to its former glory. So with the region weary and divided, how will Telius move into the future? Enter YOU the player: the child of a noble family, you were sent away before the war began. But now you return to join this new league and help bring Telius into harmony and stability once more. Can you solve the mysteries of the war, work your way through the shadows of the past, and live with the consequences of your decisions? Will you support the Council, fight for the Royale Loyalists, or take matters into your own hands? Prepare for your personal and pre-existing beliefs to be challenged by the many poignant, morally gray decisions waiting for you in... Pokémon Empire. Features Spoiler 9 Dual-typed Starters ( covers all 18 types ) Can do full Monotype runs with ANY type even before you reach the first leader! Includes Most Pokemon Gens 1-8 The best Soundtrack in any fangame all-time. 100% Guarantee. Seriously, I DARE YOU to find one that even comes CLOSE. Intuitive, Easy-to-Use Crafting System Relationship Support System: Make choices and build relationships with characters that affect the plot and outcome of the game! Custom-made Field Effects, Backgrounds, Terrains, and even Weather! Tons of Easter Eggs to hunt for! Increased Shiny Rate ( with all custom-made shiny sprites! ) Huge, open maps with tons of exploration, deep lore, and sidequests! New Game Mechanics, Moves, Abilities, Items, and Pokémon! Spoiler NOTE: Pokémon Empire is built on the strategic style Pokémon battling was designed around: no free switches after scoring KO's and no healing items from the bag. If you're a player who isn't used to this, all I ask is you give it a try. The vast majority of our casual players do find it hard at first, but then end up wishing more games did it this way. Some Examples of Gameplay Changes: Freeze now halves Sp. ATK and has a 25% chance to fully freeze each turn Aqua Ring heals the active Pokémon for 1/8th max HP for 5 turns and stays active even if the user switches Hazard scaling damage has been leveled out; Worry Seed is now a hazard Pokemon have better abilities and learn moves that make more sense via level-up. Every species has viability! New Moves and Abilities that: Cut PP more effectively Apply Heal Block Punish and Reward Switches Punish non-Contact Moves P-haze Opponents Raise Defensive Stats with Priority Pokémon Rebalanced: Every Pokémon has a niche that distinguishes itself from its competitors (like all the route 1 birds or regional fish Pokémon). There are meaningful tradeoffs in stats, typings, movepools, and abilities between similar species. Do you go with Onix's massively buffed base stats or Geodude's vastly superior movepool? Does your team need speed control and healing from Furret, good coverage and early parting shot from Watchog, or raw power and survivability from Gumshoos? There are tons of new ways to use old favorites, but all changes buff the Pokémon at every stage of your playthrough in ways that support their lore, theme, and aesthetic. Pokémon gain and change typings, moves, and abilities only when it helps them in meaningful, lore-friendly ways. Voltorb is now Electric/Normal because not only does it help it carve out a unique niche among other pure Electric-types, but it also gains rapid spin (a move it should've always had) and STAB on its self-destruct moves (which is extremely lore-enhancing). And that's just one example. All changes promote balance and enhance each Pokémon's individual gameplay fantasy in a lore-friendly way. Join the thousands of other players who have found Empire to be the most meticulous, well-balanced, and thoughtful overhaul you've ever experienced! Fakemon: Only a few fakemon species will be added each episode. These are all specifically and carefully designed to fill unused or underused type combinations OR to fill specific niches that currently don't exist (such as Pokémon to make weather teams more diverse, or a physical attacking Ice/Ghost-type drain tank). Additionally, many underwhelming fully evolved canon Pokémon, such as Magcargo, Spinda, Octillery, etc., will be receiving either regular evolutions or mega evolutions. We've gone back into the code and found out there's a simple fix. We expect there will be some more bugs found in the coming days, so this bug you found and any others will be fixed in a patch within a week. You could try and purchase an Ice Heal from any of the other vendors in the game, for now. If you're unable to do so then the copy-pasted code for that item might be inputted incorrectly. In order to access the bottled water you'll have to wait until we can post the patched game, unfortunately. Sorry for the inconvenience

Edo 160
This game looks amazing, and I love the atmosphere when playing. And giving the starters such good IVs is very welcome, since you're not stuck soft resetting at the beginning and can just dive right into the story. But I noticed that the shiny sprites for Snover and Abomasnow have the numbers 495 and 496 (for Snivy and Servine) instead of 459 and 460. And you misspelled Baneful Bunker as Baleful Bunker in your PBS files.
Octavius 87
Thanks for the finds! Our beta team didn't encounter everything, but I'm glad you guys are enjoying the game so far! Like Stoic said, even though these are quick and easy fixes, we'll wait to see if a handful of bugs come in before sending out an update. And baleful bunker is actually an intentional misspelling (it's a feature; not a bug lol)! Baleful has a similar meaning to baneful, but we thought it sounded more compelling. You may see other moves or abilities here and there that have their names slightly changed. Sorry if it's a bit irksome!
darkwaters33 14
Started playing and I must say very impressed so far, its pretty polished as far as an episode 1 game goes. Is there gonna be a link stone type item to evolve pokemon that need to be traded, for example the two bugs at the beginning in polaris pass?

Most Pokemon that evolve via trade will have an evolution item. In some special cases, such as Shelmet and Accelgor, we may elect to use an in-game event instead. As of right now, Pokemon that could evolve as soon as possible due to trading are not able to evolve. This is simply for balancing
J-Awesome_One 1439
Wait wait wait! This is the game that the creator made a post about like 2 and half years ago?! Omg! I was so excited for this game to come out but then there was silence for so long and I forgot! I just looked at the old post now and it's the same! AHHHHH! Going to play it right now! But it isn't annoying at all, I think it contributes to the game's uniqueness. I was wondering if there's a list for the pokemon that were subjected to changes, at least those with changes to their base stats?

I was wondering if there's a list for the pokemon that were subjected to changes, at least those with changes to their base stats? We do have an excel/google sheet that list more of the holistic changes, but keeping a changelog for each individual Pokemon would honestly be impossible given how many small subtle changes there are overall, especially to things like when certain Pokemon learn certain moves by level-up. The best thing we have for now is the PBS file, especially if you just want to look at base stats. If you go into your Empire game folder and click on the PBS folder and open the "Pokemon" notepad file, you can search for any Pokemon with "control F" and find its changes. And if you don't know what a move or ability does, you can find a description in the "Ability" and "Move" notepad folders, respectively, all still within that PBS folder. Eventually, we'd like to have a website where you can search and find all of this information more neatly, but this is the best we can do for now. Do note that this game is and will continue to be carefully carefully balanced where everything you catch and raise will be usable and (we think) satisfying. Things like stufful that normally don't learn a fighting move until level 38, will learn one before you reach meaningful level break points (i.e. it will have a fighting move before you have to fight the ice gym leader). So don't be afraid to experiment and let the changes play out for you organically!

No problem, I was just hoping there might be some detailed documentation for better overview, since the PBS even has the unchanged values, and scrolling through a thousand entries takes quite some time. I did search with Ctrl F for specific info, so having those PBS files is really great, thanks for including them. Just one question left: How is the difficulty compared to Reborn? Will it be more casual since the Set Battle mode and 'No Item in battle' rules are imposed on the players? (Which I really like by the way, that's how a trainer battle is supposed to be imo)

(Which I really like by the way, that's how a trainer battle is supposed to be imo) I played through the entire demo and didn't find it all that challenging. I believe the game doesn't actually have Reborn's AI within it which makes game decisions a bit more random. The field effects, especially the first gym leader's, is where the actual difficulty comes into play. Set mode isn't that big of a problem, seeing as I personally found it super easy to optimize my team to my playstyle. The EXP share also helps to get any lagging member on track super quickly.
