Game.exe does nothing when run

After watching part of a playthrough of Pokémon Reborn and looking into the characters a bit, I am really interested in giving the game a try myself. I downloaded it last night, but when I unzipped the file and tried to play it today, clicking Game.exe does nothing even when I run as an administrator. I've gone into the control panel and made it exempt from the DEP thing as I saw in another topic, but that hasn't done anything either.

Does anyone have any other suggestions as to why this isn't working? I'm on Windows 10 if that helps.

Thank you in advance, and I apologise if this isn't how to go about such a thing!

Make sure antivirus isn't attacking it

Try redownloading into a different spot on the computer as well

I've made an exclusion for the game's folder in my antivirus and also tried unzipping another download of it into my Project Files x86 folder rather than the Downloads folder where it was left before. I then tried to run the game in the new location, in Windows XP compatibility mode, as an administrator.
After doing all this, the Pokémon Reborn window is at least showing up now, but it doesn't do anything; it just shows up with a black screen and closes itself after a few seconds. There's no sound or error message or anything.

I tried looking around for similar errors, and a couple topics have mentioned updating drivers? However I don't really know how to do this. I've had my laptop for over five years now, so maybe it's too old (to the point it can't update Windows 10 past a certain point because "its drivers aren't compatible and no longer supported by the manufacturer" or something). That might also be why it isn't working, but if there's some other thing I can do to fix it I would love to try and get it working in some way..

Try this

  • This problem occurs on random computers but can sometimes be fixed. The primary treatment is to change your Data Execution Prevention settings to allow Pokemon Reborn's Game.exe. Click here for instructions on how to to edit your DEP settings.
  • Alternatively, this error can sometimes be fixed by renaming "RGSS102E.dll" in your game folder to anything else, and renaming "RGSS104E.dll" to "RGSS102E.dll" instead.
