zblueboltz 0
(If any of you people want a way to speed their game up for now, check the green text : Loading less area at once After playing the game I can see it's quite laggy. I watched a video before, saying that it's because the map is quite large. However, the official pokemon games are quite large too - however, the newer ones would slow down considerabley more, and on top of lowering the FPs, they needed soemthing more... Whenever entering a new area (usually), you enter through a building that goes onto the other side, esentially making the other area "there but not really". It doesn't need to be with boxes, though. In pokemon Black 2, the ranch transissions through just the gate, fading from a black screen As I see it, there's already quite a few gates in the first area, notably to the right and above, so it shouldn't be hard to make them "seperate rooms", still partially visible from the other side. I'm sure "it lags make it not lag" was suggested countless times, but this is a solution more than a suggestion. However there's a way anyone can make it fast enough, anyway. I use an application called Game Booster, which surprisingly makes it run almost laglessly. You will have to register with them, though. Night time It's really dark, kinda too dark. I might have just been playing it too late, but I couldn't even see the fences and walked in them constantly. Just a minor reduction would be fine, I think, everyone should be able to still tell it's night. Music too loud I can't hear quite a few of the sounds, an option to change the music volume, if possible, would be appreciated. Some of the enemy sprites seem to high. So far I've only seen Panpour and Pignite come in too high above the ground, and it looks weird. :B[ [edit] Now Oshawott
Delhezi 0
The darkness is fixed as of 9/9.5. Music, I don't think I've heard of or noticed a problem before since ep 8. And the sprites being off center are not game breaking so that is being postponed/worked on as an afterthought right now from what I've heard. But that is an interesting way to ease the lag. (9.5 is significantly better with the lag compared to past release though)
Administrators Amethyst 2468 Posted August 22, 2013 Administrators Share Posted August 22, 2013 I appreciate the suggestions; though have you tried the 9.5 release? I restructured the city to reduce lag and from what I've heard it's been mainly successful. I do want to look into that Game Booster thing though. I don't have full control over the night tint (I've wanted to change it from the get-go) because it's based on everything from the time of the day to what season it is and your hemisphere. I don't feel comfortable editing scripts of that complexity (which is why I need someone who does >>; ) The program's sound/music can be adjusted manually through the volume mixer in your ashtray. Slightly inconvenient, but it's as good as a gameboy fader. As Delzhi alluded to, I'm not worrying about sprites until after I find out what terrible things Gen 6 is going to do about them. I could adust them temporarily but then it'd all go to waste pretty much immediately.
zblueboltz 0
Yeah, I think my computer is worse than it should be which is causing more lag than other people. Also around the starting area specifically seems to be laggier than anywhere. '_>' Anyone who is experiencing lag should be okay with Game Booster, though.
Administrators Amethyst 2468 Posted August 22, 2013 Administrators Share Posted August 22, 2013 I refer back to my question of- have you tried the 9.5 release? Because the starting area is exactly where most of my effort was focused on reducing lag with that.
zblueboltz 0
Well, I downloaded the game 2 or 3 days ago, but not the update pack. Is there anything I'm doing wrong? Becuase I can't tell if it's 9.5 either. :^l
Administrators Amethyst 2468 Posted August 23, 2013 Administrators Share Posted August 23, 2013 Chances are you have the original episode 9 9.5 isn't a required update; it's a restructure I put up for everyone to help test because it's buggy as all hell, due to the fact that I reworked the overcity to reduce lag So I think that'll help! You don't have to get an update pack for that; it'll be included with episode
zblueboltz 0
I feel dumb asking, but how do I change my 9 to the 9.5 and will it erase my current save file?
Administrators Amethyst 2468 Posted August 23, 2013 Administrators Share Posted August 23, 2013 It's just a matter of downloading the update in the topic. Your save file is stored elsewhere so all you have to do is run the 9.5 download after unzipping it.
