Unable to Fly w/Suspension Badge

I've just beaten Ciel but am still being told "Sorry a new badge is required." when attempting to fly.
 

Ironically this is happening just after I experienced a glitch in the backstage area of the Big Top. 
When I walked through the door to leave after the Post-Ciel battle cut-scene and doing some team member swapping, it flashed through this cycle of location transitions. Several banners for locations I haven't had access to for ages such as 'Jasper Ward' and 'Opal Ward' flashed on top of the transition animation on a black screen before it delivered me to the main/stage area of the Big Top. 

 

I tried closing the game and re-opening it and I double checked my trainer card, the suspension badge is there and the Acrobatics TM is in my bag but I can't fly. 
As the plot at this point requires you to fly back to Reborn City, this has me effectively soft locked. 

 

What could have happened? I've done nothing out of the ordinary. 
Wait, did Terra do this!? Did she screw me over because Samson deleted her!?

are you playing on an unmodded version of the game? If i recall, this happens if you have the follower mod for some reason. Try to move the save file to a clean version of reborn before fighting ciel and beat her again using the clean version, thats how i fixed it for me.

Damn it. I do have the follower mod. 
Is there another way? I really would rather not have to beat Ciel again, these gyms are difficult enough to beat once. 

Regardless, my "clean version" which I'd started the game on no longer opens my save file, it errors out (I tried it a bit ago because I was annoyed with an ice puzzle and wanted to use an Escape Rope which can't be done with the follower).

You may or may not need to redo Ciel's fight, but you first need to disable the follow mod on your save file before moving it to the clean version of the game. You need to  talk to the NPC that disables the mod first and save (should be near the PC in agate circus) . then move the newly saved file to a clean version of reborn. That will prevent the error from occurring.

 

If fly still does not work, you probably need to move a save file before you fought her and beat her again in the clean version of reborn unfortunately.

Alright, I disabled the follower, opened the file in the non-follower version and Fly does work in the non-follower version.

This is still shitty though. I really like the follower!

Yea, its a bit unfortunate, but if possible, you can contact the creator of that mod and see if they got plans to bugfix / update it so you are able to fly.

I would guess probably not at least not until ep 19 but I might inquire just the same.
