Alpha272 0 Posted December 3, 2019 Share Posted December 3, 2019 Hi, I just want to say, that I have a blackscreen with pkmn Reborn. When I start the game, it immediately freezes and I need to kill the Process with the Task Manager. It doesn't give me an error or an error log of any kind. The only error report is from Windows itself (the windows event viewer), and it basically tells me, that the dll "ntdll.dll" is at fault (I attached a screenshot to this message). It is able to run on Windows compatibility settings for Windows XP Service Pack 3, but than it just freezes, as soon as I finished the character creation. On compatibility settings for Windows 8, I managed to get the error "Critical Error C0000005 at address 77D3BF39" I am currently Running on Windows 10 Enterprise 1909. Anyway; yes, I tried redownloading the game files (with Edge, Edge beta, chrome and opera) and yes I tried it from different places on my PC. I tried it from C:\, from downloads and from my user folder. And welp.. nothing worked. oh and I also tried another game with the same engine (Touhou Oracle of the Forgotten Testament; also on RPG Maker XP (but obviously without Pokémon Essentials (assuming, that reborn uses Pokémon Essentials))) and that crashed with the same error. So it seems like my PC really hates RPG Maker XP games. And considering, that this is a problem with the Engine, this might be the wrong place to report this problem. Alpha272 0 Posted January 30 Author Share Posted January 30 Yes, all drivers are up to date and my virus scanner is windows defender so that shouldn't be an issue. And even with that disabled the games doesn't run. With resetting.. are you talking about a restart or are you talking about windows "Reset this PC" option (which would be a reinstallation of windows). If you mean the former, I already did that, if you are talking about the latter, that's not feasible for me. In the worst case scenario (i.e. nobody has a solution besides reinstalling the OS), I could run this game in a Windows 7 VM, but I would really prefer to run RPG Maker games natively.
