tru 0
I played this game and beat the first few gyms, then during a cutscene my computer was going slowly and the game said that the script was running slowely and it was going to restart, so it saved the game in the middle of the cutscene and exited out. When i tried to reload the game its just frozen there with no text on the screen (ive included a screenshot). After awhile I decided i liked this game especially difficulty-wise, so i decided redownload it and start over. After i beat the second gym, i had left a pokemon center and saved my game. Then when i went to reload it i got a message saying "The map is corrupt. The game can't continue." -sigh- It's frustrating. i still have both game files on my computer. I've played many games on emulators before and ive never had this problem.

Linux 1
There's something about version / episode 9.x, not affecting version 9. Since, it has also been hanging on my PC, on the PC-Boxes. I have no idea what causes this, it has always been slow loading up the boxes, but now, I think the timeout has been reduced and it stops itself from severely crashing and just soft resets. We'll just have to wait for Ame. btw, what version are you running? Are they patched?
Administrators Amethyst 2466 Posted August 17, 2013 Administrators Share Posted August 17, 2013 Anything that says the script is taking too long isn't a glitch, so much as your computer being unable to process all the resources the game demands Why this takes so many resources is absurd to me but... that's how it is... So that can theoretically be avoided by minimizing the number of programs running at the same time as Reborn. For the corrupt save data thing- I could only see that happening if, for instance, the game was closed before it finished saving somehow. Or did anything strange happen before or as you saved? king42 0
This happen to me once when I had all sorts of programs running, while playing reborn. so the game was moving slow very lag like but I had to save before a battle. when the game was saving it took like forever but it saved then when I closed reborn and open it later on the save file was corrupted. for some reason after I restart my pc and only open reborn it put me where I last save and a happy ever after was brought forth. so kids don't open lots of programs when playing in reborn and don't stay safe. Okay, i can make more of an attempt to have less programs going when playing this game later. Nothing really happened strangely when it came to saving. It was just it saying the script was moving too slowly and the game had to restart, then the data was saved. Then when i tried reloaded it both times it didn't work. Are both those files completely done for? Am i gonna have to start again?
Administrators Amethyst 2466 Posted August 18, 2013 Administrators Share Posted August 18, 2013 The one that froze at the cutscene is probably savable. PM it to me?
Eclipse1127 0
I created a topic addressing the same issue before scrolling to see that this user had previously addressed it (for which I apologize). I've tried restarting both the program, as well as my computer, but it gives me the same message. I've also tried transferring those files which I thought were corrupt from the original .zip file, but that didn't solve the problem, either. Are there any other options available to me without restarting?
Eldaron26 0
I also got the map is corrupted message after I entered the department store elevator. At first I thought it was my computer being slow. I just bought a brand new one today and now it says "failed to initialized direct x audio". any suggestions? its been a week since ive been able to go on.
Administrators Amethyst 2466 Posted September 6, 2013 Administrators Share Posted September 6, 2013 The direct X audio is just a matter of installing direct x, I believe, or some other audio codec Have you tried searching for that? I'm almost certain someone had a similar issue before, and I think they fixed it.
Eldaron26 0
That did fix the audio issue but now the file on my desktop says "failed to load script", and the file in my external hard drive goes straight to the new game window. I just want to play!
Administrators Amethyst 2466 Posted September 6, 2013 Administrators Share Posted September 6, 2013 The save file can't be accessed from a hard drive- it has to be at Users/YourUserName/Saved Games/Pokemon Reborn/Game.rxdata Try that?
Eldaron26 0
I've tried it several times it still says failed to load script? I don't know what to do. should I re-download episode 9"
Administrators Amethyst 2466 Posted September 6, 2013 Administrators Share Posted September 6, 2013 You can try that, though I have to wonder what happened to the save file that it's failing to load... Wanna send it to me?
