TylerJ12354 0
I just had a powersurge on my computer and every time I try to start pokemon reborn, it works until I press 'load game.' I was at Shelly's gym. An error message comes up when loading. It says " Script 'PokemonLoad' line 484: No MethodError occured. Undefined method 'updateMap' for nil:NilClass. " I have no idea what this means. I hope someone can help me because I have worked very hard on this game and I love this game, I don't want to stop playing just yet. Thanks in advance! Fezzdog 0
Try re-installing and importing your save-file over. http://www.pokemonreborn.com/game/save.html
TylerJ12354 0
I searched 'game.rxdata' from the start menu, but it says " no results found. "
Administrators Amethyst 2466 Posted August 8, 2013 Administrators Share Posted August 8, 2013 That's strange, the power surge shouldn't be able to delete the file so regardless you should still be able to find the Game.rxdata thing in /Users/YourUserName/Saved Games/Pokemon Reborn/Game.rxdata However, I don't think that's going to make a difference. Were you in the middle of saving when it surged?
TylerJ12354 0
No, I wasn't saving. When it is loading my game, however, the music of Shelly's gym still plays, so I know my file is still there. It also shows my pokemon team and everything before I load the game. Administrators Amethyst 2466 Posted August 8, 2013 Administrators Share Posted August 8, 2013 Then I guess you can see if you can find it and try relocating it, but honestly if the data was somehow corrupted, I don't have a way to restore it... :c
TylerJ12354 0
When I type 'game.rx', 'game.rxproj' appears. Is this it?
Administrators Amethyst 2466 Posted August 8, 2013 Administrators Share Posted August 8, 2013 Afraid not, that's something else.
ThBe 0
Maybe you don't remember renaming your save file?
TylerJ12354 0
Maybe you don't remember renaming your save file? I don't think I did... when I downloaded the game, I couldn't figure out how to run it. I used this video to help me get started. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHQHsgjjn1c
ThBe 0
Did you try what Amethyst suggested?

ThBe 0
Oh, idea! Maybe it has been temporarily been placed in the recycle bin?
TylerJ12354 0
Thanks to everyone who tried to solve my problem! I don't know what happened. My computer has a surge protector on it but, it didn't seem to work. :/ Thank you, Ame for creating this wonderful game and for caring about the people who play it! Can't wait to see more updates and improvements in the future! Time for me to start my Reborn adventure over again! Maybe I'll find things I didn't before!

Administrators Amethyst 2466 Posted August 8, 2013 Administrators Share Posted August 8, 2013 Oh, goodness. Hey! Actually, if you're going to be starting over, consider waiting a week or two. I'm gonna be releasing 9.5 which will need to be tested start to finish so it'd actually help a lot if you waited until then. I mean, I'm sure others will help test it too, but it might be slightly more interesting. Idk, your choice! I am really sorry though. D:
