Options & Controls resetting on restart

Hey, completely new player here, so sorry if this already has an answer but I couldn't find it with a quick google and forum search, so I thought it better asking here for now.

So, when I start the game I edit my volume options, window size and controls, but when I close the game and restart all options have been reset to their default state. Is there a fix for this, because editing default controls and volume every time I start would be quite a hassle.

 

Edit: Version I am on is latest V18, and no files are set as read-only.

And I've posted this on the wrong sub-forum, haven't I? :v

 

Edit2: I've dl'ed the Modular modpack and extra music modpack, and noticed that since then my settings do get saved, although I'm not sure if it's because of that or something altogether.

Not sure if this is the case but if you didnt save in-game the settings arent saved either, I think.
