Puzzle Tiles Won't Rotate

I'm pretty early game at the Swirlix puzzle and for some reason I can't rotate any of the puzzle pieces. I select them and press Shift and nothing. I press Shift on them before selecting and nothing. Can anyone help?

Right offhand, did you change up the controls?

If yes then it should be whatever key you set for the registered item key, if not then pls post your save so we can look into it.

I did change the controls to make things a bit easier for myself and I figured it was probably that but I never considered what Shift was in the default. It was the different key I put for registered items. Thank you both for helping!
