couldn't move, then screwed everything sideways

I'm playing through the devon corp. mission on episode 18, i get in the battle on the 3rd floor and immediately after i get out of the battle it says "script has run too long" or something of that nature, then it asks to save and closes. 2 hours or so later i open the game again and i can't move. i can change the colors of the floor but can't move. I've tried rebinding my keys, leaving the game open for a bit, and soft resetting, none of which has worked. i was told to put my save file here by people on discord and reddit. i tried deleting that save then putting a new one up by moving my most recent save. This made it so that when i opened the game it just showed "new game" as an option. i put the file i moved back where i was, but "new game" is the only option still. if i get moved to a new location on this file to get unstuck, i might need assistance putting the file back to use it. if anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated. Side note: i'm not technologically adept at all, so bear with my simple-mindedness - i don't know how to backups and only discovered that the discord and forums were a thing yesterday

So you've found the savegame folder which is good, I think the only thing you might be missing is that to have a save actually be loaded (backup or fixed one) you need to rename the file to 'game.rxdata', that signifies that it's the active save.

so i would name "285 - Cuisine - 112h 17m - 13 badges.rxdata" into "284 - Cuisine - 111h 24m - 13 badges.game.rxdata," if so that didn't work

Strange, I was able to load the save that you have attached just fine and do the battle. try this game.rxdata

I can't tell just from the image, but it's a little odd to have the game exe in the same location as the saves, so maybe that's relevant?

How exactly did you load the save?

downloaded the attached save

copied it into my savegame folder ([user]/saved games/pokemon reborn)

renamed my current game.rxdata to something else to store it

renamed your save that I'd copied in to game.rxdata

launched the game from my regular shortcut to game.exe for Reborn E18 (located in another random folder in my documents)

the save was there fine.

that didn't work, still only says "new game"

Right off-hand it seems you named it literally game.rxdata. This isn't necessary. The file should just be named game. (No period, or space). The .rxdata is the type of file, like .doc is on word documents.

Just now, i tried downloading the file, put it in the reborn saves, and renamed it "game" "game.rxdata" and just left it alone. none of which have worked
