Problems with growth

So I'm at the point in the game where I'm in the team meteor hideout with fern, and I have to double battle these two grunts, and every time Fern's Budew uses growth it crashes the game. Sometimes the game works past this, but the next battle the game crashes again.

Is there any fix to this?

I don't know but this proofs that Fern's existance is irritating for the game itself and it does not handle it. Just kidding, try to save after every battle and to force him not using Growth (by even killing it if needed)

I'm pretty sure that what's causing the crash is the animation. You can try turning it off in the settings (Battle scene: Off).
