endless battle against no opposing Pokemon

Hi, I watched my friend playing Reborn and he got stuck in an endless fight with Titania in the water treatment center. He fought against a Wigglytuff and a Gourgeist. the Gourgeist used Phantomforce on the Aegislash. The turn Phantomforce should hit, Aegislash used Kingsshield and phantomforce hit it anyway as expected. He defeated both the Wigglytuff and Gourgeist and the opponents didn't send in any more pokemon. The battle continued for a while without enemy pokemon, and then it crashed when he used explosion with muk. After the gourgeist was defeated he told me that he got error messages, but I don't know what they said, because he streamed only the Reborn window :/.
