johare 0
I'm currently in the Beryl Ward, at the part where you battle Taka and ZEL to stop the PULSE there. My game always freezes in the middle of this battle. It doesn't seem to be triggered by a certain move or action, because it always happens after different things. The only other place I had this problem was the first battle with Taka, but I was able to avoid the problem on my third attempt. It may be time based, because it seems to happen around the same point the battle.
Nickaboo92 0
Does it say it's a script hanging error?
chase_breaker 0
I found the error to this are you on a mac? If so just go into the Audio Select the Battle meteor admin and remove it. Don't delete it just put it on the desk top. You wont have the song for the battle and it will just repeatedly play the town song but it wont freeze. That's how I got through it. chase_breaker 0
it's direct is Pokemon Reborn -> Audio -> BGM (Back ground music) -> Battle Meteor Admin <-- This file needs to be moved from the audio. It can't loop for some reason. It plays all the way through but it has trouble looping.
chase_breaker 0
Did it work?
johare 0
Yes it did, thank you. Interestingly, all of the bugs I've encountered on my mac have been audio related.
chase_breaker 0
Me too. I'm gonna try to get with Ame at some point and see if we can work something out maybe a mac release... I haven't discussed it with her yet... and she might not go for it... but damn it I'm going to try lol!
Administrators Amethyst 2466 Posted July 3, 2013 Administrators Share Posted July 3, 2013 If it were just MEs it would be super easy. As it is, if it's mp3's crashing too this is going to be considerably more problematic. And I'm not exactly sure why, in either case. What I can do at the least is remove the sounds, but that's also a pretty bland solution
johare 0
Its definitely not all the sounds, only MEs and the one mp3 so far, all the other sounds and music have worked so far.
chase_breaker 0
I'm thinking that there might be confusion in the script between your program and wine interrupting your program... does that make any sense at all? I mean the easy solution is to get who ever originally did your tracks to lay down some MP3 versions of the Midi files. Easy is a relative term lol. I do think there are some minor scripting issues between mac and pc... for example the only pokemon that has trouble coming out of the pokeball for me is Gardevoir. It just makes me wonder why it takes so long for the game to load that pokemon specifically. It's literally a 2 second gap between the text saying go SmackTalk (the nickname) throwing the ball... and then 2 seconds and boom appear. Like I said it's not a speed issue with my mac everything else runs completely smooth and never lagged. Sometimes even when he's thrown out there I get an error message I screen shotted it, and I'm going to upload the pic for you to see if you want.
Administrators Amethyst 2466 Posted July 3, 2013 Administrators Share Posted July 3, 2013 Are you using the animated sprites? I know Gardevoir's animated one is one that can lag sometimes.
