Windows Installer issues

So whenever I try to boot the game now, Windows Installer starts up and I can't play Reborn. Installer also pops up when I try to open other pokemon fangames. I've tried manually installing fonts and running the game as an administrator, but neither seems help. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? Oh! - and I  remember being able to play the game back in episode 15/16 ish, I think. And the exact message Windows Installer displays is "Preparing to install"

That's strange. I've never heard of anything like this. Do you mind sending a screenshot of the folder where you have the game/the message itself?

The Reborn folder is just in Downloads, and I've also attached a screenshot of the game+installer message

This is really weird. I'll make some research to see if I find any similar case and I'll let you know if I find the answer.

Oh shoot idk if this helps but I also can't close the game — I can only close the application through task manager. It's also the only to get rid of the Windows Installer pop-up.

Don't really double post but ... it has been a few days. Should I message Amethyst? or something? I really love Reborn, and I wanna play it again ;-;

I'm not sure if I can help, but out of curiousity, what happens if you just let the Installer run? Like just leave it there for a few minutes to do its thing.

 

Otherwise, try deleting the game files and redownloading. IIRC Windows Installer popping up for programs (other programs that is, since I've never run into it with RPGMaker stuff), means something isn't working right.

Double posting is okay in this case. I'm sorry, I havent been able to find a solution or anything similar. Wcv's sugestion sounds good but im not sure that's going to do it. Do other games (Rejuvenation for example) work or do they give you this same error?

wcv: I've tried letting it run for 40-ish minute but it didn't work. I'll try letting it run for more time and see if that works. Unfortunately, re-installing Reborn doesn't seem to work either.

 

Walpurgis: Rejuvenation doesn't seem to work either — the same issues apply. I've tried some other fan-games too, just to see if its a rpgmaker issue or a problem with the Essentials toolkit, and none of the pokemon fangames I've tried work for me. They all have the same problem. Again, I really appreciate you trying to help!

I'm sorry, I haven't been able to be here a lot lately. This makes me think the problem is related to RGSS player in some way but if for whatever reason you didnt have it the error message should be something like "rgss-rtp standard not found" or along the lines. I don't know if I can help you with this, I lack the knowledge to even identify what's causing this problem. I don't know if she will be able to help you but you mentioned contacting Ame, right? It might be a good idea.
