I ended up going back for the some sidequests and went to go fight him. After completing the puzzle and navigating the tunnels he just wasn't there. I never even opened this area until Episode 18. Would be interested in seeing if anyone could actually repeat this bug before putting it on the bugs fix list. Sad you missed a little bit of content but it doesn't lock you out of any goodies. What do i do with it? You can't really do anything with it. I updated my game mid-episode and ended up with a spare corrupted Pokeball as well despite getting Ralts -- it was pushed back to another area, I believe, for being so powerful early game, so even if you already got the earlier one it spawns the item again -- but since you've already completed the side quest you can't complete it again.
