Desper 0
So I've been hunting for a good Zubat the last few days, but after many resets because of bad nature/IVs I started getting annoyed. So then I realized you could catch a Ralts (didn't want to get the Abra yet). It only took me like 10 minutes to get an Adamant Ralts with Synchronize. Anyways, here I am again hunting for Zubats with a Synchronize Ralts in the front of my team, and after catching 30 or so (and counting), not a single one of them are Adamant natured. Can anyone confirm/deny whether Synchronize is supposed to have the 50% for the same ability? And if it is, should I report it as a bug or something? I seriously doubt this is just bad "luck" at this point.
FeatherDuster 4
I don't think the Synchronize ability affects the nature of the pokemon you encounter. This is what the ability is... " When this Pokémon becomes POISON, PARALYZE, or BURN, so does the opponent. However, Fire-type and Water Veil ability Pokémon cannot be BURNed, Poison-type and Steel-type and Immunity ability Pokémon cannot be POISONed, and Limber ability Pokémon cannot be PARALYZEd." So, you will probably have to keep looking. Sorry man.
Astra 10
Abilities have hidden effects. Synchronize does indeed influence the nature... you're just having bad luck. ....Something I wish I had more of...

Because I know for a fact that Synchronize has the hidden effect in the main games. I've used it many times to manipulate natures of wild Pokemon. From Bulbapedia: Outside of battle From Pokémon Emerald onwards, if a Pokémon with this Ability is leading the party, there is a 50% chance that wild Pokémon encountered will have the same Nature as the Pokémon with Synchronize. This does not apply to roaming or gift Pokémon. In Emerald, it did not apply to stationary Pokémon either, such as Regirock or Rayquaza. The Ability is nullified when a Pokémon with Synchronize is strolling in the Pokéwalker or when capturing Dream World Pokémon from the Entree Forest.
FeatherDuster 4
Hm, I didn't know that Also, I would say good natures aren't necessary for in game. Pokemon Reborn is a game where you need to change your pokemon to fit your needs. The natures are nice to have but I would say aren't necessary.

I'm kind of OCD when it comes to Pokemon natures/IVs, whether it be in an easy or hard game, or whatever the circumstances may be. I sort of enjoy hunting for a Pokemon with a nice spread. I settled for a Calm Budew because Roserade already has a nice SpA stat, but Crobat is a bit lacking in the Attack department and I would enjoy a nice boost without hindering its other useful stats. Anyway, I have my own reasons for playing the game how I do. I'm just curious if the mechanic is working in the game like it's supposed to. @Silver Are you positive that it does what it was intended to? Like, have you actually tried it out yourself? FeatherDuster 4
Yea, I'm kinda the opposite, I'll take any pokemon I like regardless of moves and nature and stuff. I tried nature hunting but it was time consuming for me and I never had time to play for a long time. Anyways, I wish you luck getting that adamant zubat!

Once I learned about IVs and EVs I really started going hardcore on them. Even if it was like some random hack that I was going to stop playing in two days. Anyways, thanks :]

Desper 0
Synchronize's out of battle effect does not currently work. Thanks for the reply. So then I'll assume the person/people working on the game already know about this? Or should it be reported?

Anyways, thanks :] Haha same here and that's when I learned about competitive battling so it's kind of like a necessary thing for me. Plus the feeling is amazing when you find a pokemon with an awesome nature and pro ability.
Desper 0
Well, I did some searching around and apparently there are several abilities that don't work, but this is a problem with Pokemon Essentials rather than the game itself. It also looks like abilities haven't been improved upon for quite awhile now, so we may be in for a long wait if they are to come at all. http://pokemonessentials.wikia.com/wiki/Ability_effects http://pokemonessentials.wikia.com/wiki/Downloads Oh well, kind of disappointing for me. It will probably take a lot of resets to get a team I'm happy with now, but not much can be done about it I guess.
Administrators Amethyst 2466 Posted June 25, 2013 Administrators Share Posted June 25, 2013 Ah, you found that. Yeah, pretty much. But the newest release targeted moves; maybe Abilities will be next. I'm just glad the guy is still updating the platform at all >>;
