Choice Band issue (probably speccs too i would imagine, but i only experienced band)

So, my sandslash (the choice band user) was stone edging around in the dessert getting rid of some mandibuzzes,  my last stone edge missed, so i thought i would need to struggle now but when i clicked on attack again i could switch moves to iron head, im pretty sure thats not supposed to be possible.
