Game crashes almost all the time in battles MAC

So i recently updated my game from episode 15 to episode 17. Since then it seems that my game crashes a lot in battles (especially when someone uses a stat reducing/increasing move). 

In episode 15 i had this issue next to never but now its making it impossible to continue the game without restarting my game every 5 minutes.

 

Yes i tried shutting down all programs, downloading new wine version,  downloading 1.8 "stable" version and restarting my computer. 

 

And yes disabling animations does work buuuut the battles look ridiculous imo lol.

 

Does this mean i need a new computer? I cant imagine i need a state of the art computer to run graphics and animations that come from a game from long long time ago. 

 

Is there anywway to fix this? without loss of quality?

I really like episode 15 and all its updates and new pokemon i dont want to switch back if possible.

 

Also is it possible to transfer these saves to my windows laptop and continue without the crashproblems i ran into on mac? I really cant continue my game like this..
