Favorite Pokemon Antagonist?

I suppose that I'm a sucker for making polls. For convenience's sake, the main games go in chronological order, followed by the Orre games and then Pokemon Ranger. Main games end appx. halfway through. I had a really hard time choosing, but I eventually just tossed a coin and chose Purple Eyes with N in a practical tie in second place. Purple Eyes is my favorite because of basically everything that happens with him and the fact that he uses four of my favorite Pokemon (Garchomp, Metagross, Gardevoir and Mewtwo) and N is...well, N.

Giovanni because what he wanted was simple, not over the top and he didn't go out his way trying to find and gain control over a legendary that would suit his goal he just said fuck it, ill do it myself, his grunts were not all wearing silly outfits...mostly....and he did simple things you would expect from a criminal organisation.

 

Simply put, I liked the simplicity of his goal, his actions and his group outfit design.

Who could forget about the fabulous Mirror B? Yeah, there are many other, better villains, but this one was the most FUN.

I really loved Ghetsis as an antagonist in BW2! There have been many amazing antagonists throughout the Pokémon series, some of which almost destroyed the world whether they meant to or not. But Ghetsis is the first that I felt was downright evil, putting aside what he did to N. He's the first antagonist to openly try and kill the protagonist. You can't say otherwise how that scene with Kyurem was gonna go if N hadn't stepped in. The protagonist would've ended up dead.

Giovanni/Sakaki, for many reasons. First, as the manga reveals, he is a "Viridian Trainer", one of those with special potential and even, mysterious abilities (like Yellow). Then, he is a Gym Leader and maintains a "good civilian" profile, while coordinating a nice operation for profit. He was the first character to "return" frequently in newer titles or be in flash-backs, other than his native era; i especially liked his HGSS cameo. In that old pokemon musical, it is revealed that Ash's mom romanced him once, which is possible that he is that secret father or something (i myself was shocked when i got word)... Besides his legitimate Silver. For whom, though, we never learn who was his mother, either.

 

Even though i never played that content, i really liked the Ultra Sun/Moon stunt and even not as thorough as in generations 1-3, it was still a nice thing. He deserves that Mewtwo! And his first pokemon was a Charmander. Guy reeks of style, from pokemon of choice, to attire. Too bad that Charmander didn't become Charizard...

N is my favorite rival. But as favorite antagonist? Hmm...either  Lusamine or Guzma, with Ghestis close behind either.
