Postscriptum: Fated Epistle ~ Courier Update (C2.4)

Recommended Posts

The game has been fun. I like how the starter is part of the story and sometimes takes action on its own.

I'm currently in Norella Town and I don't know what I'm supposed to do next. Also, is there anywhere to heal nearby? I'd like to train my koffing up.

Welcome to the world of Postscriptum.   Follow the steps of the protagonist, a melancholic young adult stricken by unemployment and paralyzed by a chronic care-free and lethargi

This sometimes happens when a)the browser's cache is filled to the brim (or there's some kind of Mega cookie problem) b) You had the browser open for a long time and then proceeded to download from Me

Excuse me for intervening, but we would really appreciate discussion of such matters being kept to a minimum. Please understand that it is not the discussion of such topics per se that is the proble

You need to look for a house that has a ton of bookshelves, and look for something that's out of place...

The game is pretty nice so far, but where exactly is the entrance to route 0? I've been searching for nearly an hour and I've been going in circles at this point.

Have you reached Western Artemisia yet? (head north from the Couriers Branch and you'll reach a checkpoint. The area right after that is Western Artemisia. Follow the road and go to your left, where you'll reach the another Checkpoint which leads to Route 0.) Check if you've obtained the Courier ID first (talk to the guy in the counter next to the mission lady).

Thank you for telling me this. I talked to most of the people, but it didn't cross my mind that I had forgotten the ID.

You're welcome. At this point in the game the MC is incapable of paying attention to almost anything, including important things like that. So, no "objective" is made clear and no instructions are given, even if that can be quite a nuisance from a gameplay perspective. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I would like to say, testing of the next episode has begun.

For the time being, I highly recommend training your team to level 30+ in preparation. Maybe find those 30-something Rare Candies hidden outside of the city to go even higher.

Two things bugs: underneath the way to get to route 0. you can squeeze and walk though the building, and can walk off the map. The other one at one of the fenced areas for hobbos, you can squeeze though and talk to a guy that said. "People have jobs you know." if I try to leave, I am unable to. As a invisible wall blocking me out. :(

Also I am complete lost! I just finish the university place, and I know I need to go to a bridge. I have no idea where that is, or need to trigger something else.

Really sorry about that! The way the tilesets were set up was a complete mess (still is in a sense) and those things are constantly being fixed.
If you're stuck you can send me your savefile and I'll sort that out.

Now you need to talk to three people in a specific order, and then another guy inside a building.
All of them are located in City Market.
Check the spoiler. There is a reason for it being this bad, but please bear with us. Thanks!

I luckily didn't save at the point, and didn't lose must progress. Just now finish the demo. :3

I do have somethings to say. besides tile spaces errors. there's one goomy sprite that ignore gravity and float in the air. and

Spoiler

After you beat the gym leader, and move to return. I somehow skip some of the story by going to bidoof place first. I remember I finish the quest of deliver one of the milks, so I when return it. and end up right away in disguse to go in, before I when to the chef of police to talk. Since I am pretty sure I miss some story since they told me to go talk to him first, so yeah.

Anyway, I have two requests. can you get more healing people? I know maybe not fully fit into story, but it very triedsome that ever 3 battles have to go back heal. then go back again. it isn't a short walk either.

The other thing is, can you chance the fast-forword key to something else? I get lost all the time, so i spam running and it at the same time, and it is pretty sore on the hand. maybe shift it to shift to be right next to the run button, or have the option to chance it.

Otherwise, it was a lot of the fun, I normally not into the character you play as talk/has their own personality, ect ect. But he win me over, and it is well written. Compare to other games that suppose more mature/high stakes. This feel more scary/threatening. Likely cause it feels more real life. So I am going to keep a eye out for updates. ^^

Thank you very much for your kind words and support!
Also thank you for being patient with the bugs and all. The problem is that this game is made in the most messy way possible, so yeap!

Let's address the fast forward button problem: Yeah, other people have suggested this as well. Will be implemented as soon as possible, either by being remappable or remapped on either CTRL/SHIFT.
For now, please remap the other keys. You can also use the running key in Toggle Mode - which means you just need to hold F and press SPACE (which also functions as the "A" button on Gameboy/DS) to play the game without holding other keys down.

Regarding the healing spots: Yes it is quite tiring after a while with constant back and forth. There's always this problem between balancing story/design and gameplay, especially in this game. To circumvent this, a lot of items can be found, as well as a ton of rare candies outside Artemisia. But please also bear in mind that the Main Character is battling for the first time and this is difficult for him as well ^^.  At a point in the future, we'll try to revisit this in order to strike the right balance between design story and gameplay. But also please bear in mind that PS is unorthodox in many of its design choices, even being purposefully arduous for many reasons. We hope you understand!

Onto the bugs now:

Spoiler

1)Yeah, tile errors are being taken care of, but that will take a while :P

2) Yes newer Pokemon have to be re-positioned since their sprites appear as "floating".  This is by no means something that takes time to change but other things are being prioritized right now.

3) That is supposed to happen in this sense: This mission is of very high importance and Mortimer has direct orders to help you ASAP. So bringing the milk at that time is not important,.  Either way, delivering the milk won't give you any reward. (not even that which the sidequest says it will)

@Aessence yes!

Thank you for your interest!

You might want to prepare for what is coming - that depends on your playstyle and approach in a manner. A bit of training will help. Also those Rare Candies.

So I just gave Postscriptum a quick look today and it is amazing, the game sold me completely when the trainer battles and their dialogue happened right after acquiring my first mon. Im looking forward to the rest of the game has so far.

@aGoodCabinet2

Thank you very much for your kind words!
Of course, criticisms are more than desirable.

I hear ya, I actually agree on that one myself. There are some (admittedly garbage) reasons for this  kind of spam.
However, we do try to keep this at a minimum. We'll try to balance this.... (uhh... keyword: try...) in the future...maybe :P!
Stay tuned -next ep is right around the corner! Thanks again!

Episode 3 has just been released.
A few things y'all should know about:

- There is a Quicksave key, press D, and you'll see an indication on the top left corner of the screen. (Credits:  Marin)
- The Fast Forward key is now ALT. It can be toggled on or off. Please do not press ALT in the Title/Continue screens.
- Added a Version Check. Be sure to check for a new version each time you start the game up. (Credits: Elyssia aka R3zonance)
- An indescribable amount of bugs has been fixed. Huge thanks to all that have contributed!
