Apparently there is a Joltik in the University. You have to go all the way through it again and interact with the statue where you found the lady and then go to the front where there's a locked door and it should be inside.

Or you can always grind over at the Uni, (which is painful, I know)



Some tactics you might find useful against the Blue Glove Boss:

-Deliby can Yawn-switch when fighting against Liepard and then Ice Ball sweep until Tentacruel
-Fletchinder may be able to do some damage to Liepard before switching. In case Sharpedo has
been paralyzed or is asleep, Growl can be used to lower its attack as well.
-Deliby can also Yawn-switch to Galvantula/Joltik, and proceed to attack from there. Fletchinder can be used
as a chance to heal your other mons using items.
-If you do have the focus sash, you can always use that to withstand a potential one hit ko attack from Sharpedo, when
using Joltik.


Unrelated question incoming; have you experienced any lag on Route 0?
It seems like semi-transparent shadows on trees and the such make RGSS go nuts. Sigh.

EDIT:  Anyone experiencing general lag (or specific-area lag) is kindly requested to report to your nearest Courier Center....(we cannot guarantee free cookies, sorry)

You tried looking for the guy I told you about? If that's not an option, consider grinding in the University a bit more using the speedup button (alt) and then try using joltik with/without sash or some growl combo.
Even if you can't find a tactic of some sort and have to rely on luck...well, you can do it.

If all else fails...




...then try again.

I think I made another mistake... the guy in the underground with the exp. Pokemon... I forgot it's name... won't let me battle him... because I said I wouldn't.... I wish I wasn't so nice to the poor guy!!! To the university for learnin!!!!

A major update has just been released (3.9.7) Aside from fixing a myriad of tile bugs, this update is powered by the rigorous testing provided by the man the legend "ArtilleryOctillery", which led to a lot of improvements. Certain earlier event sequences and maps have been redesigned.
Also a couple of sequence-messing bugs have now been resolved.

1.Outfits finally work properly and there's no need to change the player in order to show different sprites! Makes ep4 character animations possible again.
2.Fixed a rogue tile in the "PastOfThePast" map
3.Fixed even more tile bugs, improved tileset composition
4.Certain maps don't have their edges snapped anymore!
5.Remapped parts of Southwestern Artemisia and other maps once again, to adapt to the above changes

20.Fixed entering Branch sequence
21.Finally fixed starter obtaining cutscene sequence


Most early game bugs have been successfully purged. We'll continue hunting for the rest.
There's still some minor testing to be done, please report any bugs you find!

Please pay special attention to the animations; due to recent changes some sprite-changing bugs might show up.
We humbly request that you report these! Thank you!

PS: Ran into an outfit problem after the "disguise" part of the game while on 3.9.4? Make sure you're on 3.9.5+ and It will resolve itself later.
Apologies for this, some of the older workarounds to the outfit system have yet to be purged. I took a quick glance at certain related events and think this is the last one though.

Apologies for this, let me take a look...

Alright, you need to enter the Thirsty Bidoof first for the warps to activate. Is the entrance blocked on v.3.9.7? If yes, then that's a remnant from the old map. Please paste over the files below and you'll be good to go. Just enter the Thirsty Bidoof, and talk to the man there and the warps will activate.
Also, on a side note, while there wasn't an inherent problem in the transfer event itself, it would transfer you a couple of tiles away from the designated destination when activated. Thank you for finding this as well, it is now fixed.

Can you please try to enter the Thirsty Bidoof before copying the maps over? Because if you can't then I need to upload a fixed version asap.

It's an honor receiving bug reports from the legendary Method itself 😄

And thanks. I don't really think I'm worthy of the name myself.  The "Socratic Method" was the base of a theology/philosophy class I took in High School, and I really enjoyed it. When I was trying to come up with a name, I decided that "Socratic Method" was a phrase that I was OK with using to represent myself.

By the way, thanks for always responding so promptly to everyone's questions. It really shows how much you care about the game and the community.

Ha, I bet you're more worthy than you think. I'm quite curious now though - did they teach you about the most important aspect of the method? Or just the, uh, rhetoric, cross-examination procedure of question asking?

Here you go. It looks a bit different from the one you took, so maybe its something on my end. I actually started this run in 3.9.5, I don't know if that helps make any sense of it.

Regarding that class, the teacher had us move our desks in a semicircle every day, and each person had to say something about the assigned reading. After that, people could voice agreements, arguments, or really anything about the subject matter or someone else's statement. The teacher would usually only guide the discussion if it was starting to go off on a tangent, or we were missing an important point. Depending on the part of the semester, the reading could have contained anything from Plato to Aquinas. The Greek philosophers were the beginning of the class to lay the foundation, and everything else was thought to be built off of them. If you have any more questions, I would be happy to answer them, but this was five years ago and I definitely don't remember everything.

I apologize for burdening you with this, but can you please check whether the problem persists on the newest version? (3.9.12). Make sure you've made a backup of your savefile before testing it with the one already provided above.

That's a nice way of presenting it, especially to a high-school audience.
However there are two key elements that teachers usually forget to emphasize (or sometimes are unaware of). The method was a matter of love as defined in pre-modern societies (before the Enlightenment) , a sort of love for humanity, love for existence, love for the presence of other humans, love for nature - within an inherently non-confronting dialogue between two humans in search for the truth. Essentially a midwifery procedure of discovering the truth together with the interlocutor, rather than simple dialectic aiming to prove the opposition wrong. While the aspect of "common search for the truth" is a bit easier to deduce in rationalistic study, the aspect of "love" frequently eludes readers since there's two main obstacles to getting a complete grasp of it: cultural differences  and presentism, which interprets Ancient Greece as a society with inherent rationalism, which of course, was not. The whole "birth" part was an act of poetry in the original sense of the word (to make), a sort of metaphorical rhapsody and a hymn to life and to something higher.

Possibly another bug. I can't enter the police station or Courier branch. I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure I should be able to enter one of them at this point. Maybe this has to do with the fact that I updated so many times in the middle of this run.

By the way, I don't mind testing things out for you if you want me to. This is my second playthrough in episode 3, so I'm not exactly burning with curiosity about the rest of the story.

I found another bug. Fighting Jade, his aerodactyl used sky drop on my talonflame, and rather than just failing after one turn like its supposed to, it failed and now talonflame can't do anything or switch out, and aerodactyl's attacks all miss

Jade's team movesets were random. This has now changed for reasons other than the occasional skydrop problem as well. Changes will be included in the next update.

Can you please send me your savefile so I can test something related to this?

I can't find the blue glove gang anymore.  I finished the orphanage and school quests, then crossed Cyan Bridge and met the scary gang, who then kidnapped that bloke.  Deliby bit and shamed me into pursuing them, and I remember MC said something about finding Flint?  I didn't see him back at Courier HQ or in the Under.  How do I progress the story from here?

The MC mentions paging Flint. So Flint has already received your sos signal.

You don't have to do anything in particular, simply head east (in the southeastern area). The fenced area with the gangster guarding the rail opening will be accessible after talking to said gangster. Hope that helps!
