As of right now, the base crit rate is 6.25% going up to 12.5%, then 50% then 100. However it was recently discovered in both S/M and US/UM that this was changed. Source:

Spoiler

To put it short; the base crit rate should be 1/24, or 4.17%~.

I thought that Reborn was known for having a bigger crit ratio than normal...

I don't see where the bug is...

I didn't know of it. Also this game is already hard enough to defensive orientated strategies so having a higher than normal crit rate is not really fair.

It is also well-known that to play Reborn, you gotta be a bit of a masochist :D

It is inherently unfair. That's why we like it, don't we?

Proof about it? Titania's Aegislash. Shadow Sneaks you at +5 Attack without even giving you the chance to touch it. Let's not talk about fairness any more!

Reborn is supposed to have up to date Gen 7 Mechanics; this one is not brought up to date due to it only being recently discovered, hence it being reported for it to be brought up to date. It has nothing to do with preference. A higher crit chance is not a feature outside of specific Field Effects. Nothing to do with subjectively unfair things such as that. (If we really wanted to go into unfairness, let's talk about shift mode, the amount of items the player can have on hand, the fact that manipulating the field to entirely shut down the bosses team is an option..)

Shift mode only balances out the unfair advantage leaders have due to the field effects.

Manipulating the field to the player's advantage is just a countermeasure to that, most leaders can reset their original field with certain moves too, so it's part of strategy that both can utilise, hence not unfair.

For items, I agree. It's cheap to win by abusing Revives. Some have taken it to the next level, where they literally PP stall an enemy 'mon that can OHKO their entire team by abusing Revives. I think AI should put a limit on that, cause frankly, it gets ridiculous to see even youtubers that do Let's plays to win that way. A rule I set upon myself is to never use more healing items than the amount the leader I face does in a battle.

I personally consider Shift mode rather unfun since simply counterpicking every single time gets pretty easy on repeat playthroughs. None the less this is getting rather off topic for a bug report.

I doubt you can really "counterpick" everything when you do a monorun (which is my case)... e.g. If I faced Ciel in Set mode in my Bug mono, I'd probably be still trying to defeat her... I'm not a fan of switching anyways though, so you'll mostly see me just having to get a mon to faint before going into the next one... So, Shift/Set are 90% same with my playstyle, with few exceptions (see above).

True, sorry for going off-topic.
