keltena 18
I was in a battle against a wild Graveler on the Cave field, and it fainted my pokemon with its second use of Earthquake. The message that the ceiling had collapsed displayed correctly, but the battle then went straight to prompting me to send out another pokemon and continued with the field intact and Graveler alive, rather than fainting the Graveler and ending the battle like it should have. For reference, my pokemon was a Garchomp with Rough Skin. The wild Graveler had Sturdy, but it was already at 1HP when the cave collapsed and shouldn't have survived it. Global Mods Dreamblitz 1056 Posted January 5, 2018 Global Mods Share Posted January 5, 2018 reading the field notes, I feel like pokemon with sturdy surviving at 1hp regardless of current health might be intentional, as it's grouped with endure in the field notes, which works regardless of current HP
keltena 18
Huh, really? I checked the field notes in game, and they say "Pokemon using Endure, or having Sturdy may survive with 1 HP from full health." So I assumed neither of those protects against the field damage unless at full health.
Global Mods Dreamblitz 1056 Posted January 5, 2018 Global Mods Share Posted January 5, 2018 Nvm, somehow glossed over the "from full health" part
BushyTheBushSpirit 15
From the E15 Field Notes: If it had Sturdy, it shouldn't have survived unless it had full health. I'm not sure about Endure though, since Endure really should work regardless of current HP. However, to me it seems more likely that the Graveler you were facing had Rock Head, in which case it would take no damage from the collapse, and the battle would continue. EDIT: I'm an idiot

It activated earlier in the battle; that's why it was at 1HP in the first place. I wouldn't have mentioned its ability if I wasn't sure what it was.

I guess that's what I get for assuming things myself. I just checked the script though, and you're entirely right: there's no check for how much HP the Pokemon has. Sturdy will always leave it with 1 HP when the cave collapses, regardless of whether it was at full health.
