Opponent does not act while I am asleep

I was in a battle before the first gym close to the second pkmn center with a girl named doxy sth. She used sing with Igglypuff it missed but next turn when it hit me and Litten fell asleep Igglypuff just stood there while the turns passed till I wake up. No moves no items no anything. Fight resumed normally after litten woke up.

Additional info: she also had a ducklett

                            my litten had intimidate and was a female

                            I wonder traded 10 mins earlier and was carrying pkmn from that

                            It was raining

                            I used scratch and ember

                            

 

Edit: A wild hoothoot put litten to sleep and this time all was normal
