You could also try using the fps mod in my mod menu or the window watcher instead of the magnifier, to magnify the game's window only (link in my mod menu thread). I have a link to the thread in my description. If you want you can also try using the latest ruby library by changing the file name from RGSS102E.dll to RGSS104E.dll in the game.ini file and putting the file I attached into your game folder. Hope it helps. Good luck! Edit: I doubt that it's your computer's fault. It's mostly the engine that's at fault cause it's old and the more objects it has to render the slower it gets. An issue is also that the engine only uses the CPU. RGSS104E.dll
joshslaton 8
Let me try that. For some reason I didnt see that someone replied to the post. There was no notifications, weird, I will update you with any changes. [Edited] There is no noticable difference. Its painfully laggy still. I cannot make his PR mod menu work because there are errors. Like some are having. I did download a new script from his PR mod menu and a new archived EP17, no avail. Thanks for the quick reply
joshslaton 8
@Njab Additional details that may help I am now experiencing the same lag in episode 16, basically what I am saying is all of my pokemon reborn versions here are the same. There was a windows update 2 days ago, I am not sure if thats the cause, but im pretty sure I was able to play EP16/17 properly before I notice that the performance of the game got worse after that windows update. What prerequisite does pokemon reborn need before you play. I remembered something that prompted me to install something when pokemon reborn first ran. Maybe that prerequisite of a program needs to be reinstalled? Is the program .NET or direct X 9 or something ?
joshslaton 8
Another Info theres a huge slow down, when switching between screens, especially during battle. prime example of this would be: 1) when you want to switch out pokemon, it goes to the pokemon screen, its the transition inbetween, vice versa 2) same goes when transitioning from battle screen to bag and vice versa 3) when you win or lose battle: you exit the battle screen to go back to the game this things mentioned, it gives me 2-2.5 seconds even on ALT or cheat engine's speedhack. Everything else seems to speed up EXCEPT those transitions

The game worked fine yesterday, as I was completing the puzzles in the scrapyard. A windows update happened today and now during hail/ rain at grand hall/agate circus; I am experiencing lag while walking and in battles; it's fine while navigating the menu and options. Btw E16 does not seem to work with my present save file, even when the character is in an area from E16. 7 hours ago, Njab said: trz this This does not seem to provide any improvement. I will try rolling back the windows update to see the performance improves, and maybe the problem can be isolated.

I did the following which appears to have solved the issue. In my windows 10 update history. 2017-11 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4051033) had failed to install and as a result windows service - "windows module installer worker" was running in the background constantly and my Disc usage was 100% , CPU usage 80% and RAM usage was 90%; as seen from Task Manager. (My laptop spec - i5-3230M, 4 GB RAM, AMD 7670M-1GB). I reinstalled the above update successfully and now my CPU usage is 20%, RAM usage 40% and Disc usage is 10% which has greatly improved the performance in pokemon reborn E17
