E17 Incorrect and changing typings? (spoilers)

Terra's Quagsire takes damage from Sandstorm, and Palossand changes typing during the match. What I mean is that in some cases Normal- and Fighting-type moves hit it normally even though that shouldn't happen, while in some other cases it actually becomes a Ghost-type. I don't know what causes this, as I can't really re-create it. In short: Palossand may not be registered as a Ghost-type. Is this something caused by the Glitch Field or an actual bug?

 

Edit: as a clarification, I was able to land Close Combat, Superpower and Trash on Palossand, but if Terra switched, say, Excadrill out and sent Palossand, that's when my Close Combat didn't land on Palossand.

Both Terra's Pallosand and Quagsire are holding Synthetic Seeds as of E17, the effect of which depends on the field. In Glitch Field, it bosts Sp.Def (I think) and, more importantly to your query, changes the holder's type to ???, thus in that fight those two pokemon have no weaknesses or resistances.
