[Not a bug]Crash on startup after changing controls

When I try to run the game, I get this error:

However, the game runs normally, but with default settings. Then when I start, I get this:

And finally this:

Then the game dies.

 

I managed to play E17 already, but last time I played, I changed the turbo key from Left Alt to Left Control. The game doesn't start anymore.

the save file you've uploaded, does it work for you? it loads up fine on my end with changed controls.

I can't load that save, the errors from screens pop up (all of them). Backup save does the same.

Is there maybe some other configuration file that can be causing this?

Huh, I had it again and had to re-download your save. Maybe it breaks randomly, dunno.

Uhhh, I made a terrible mistake, sorry ;_;

I still have EP16 and the error showed when I tried to load my new save in the old version...

your error is different - your save file got corrupted.

so just to be sure there's not something we need to fix here is there?

A suggestion from someone who, by chance, got his save corrupted. Try to keep as many number of backups as possible. That way, you can access them instead when your main save gets corrupted.
