Frequent crashes on mac

Hello internet,

I am a mac user and I love this game. I am pretty new to it (battling noel right now) but I think it is already one of my favorite games. I installed the game onto my laptop using taco's mac guide. I am having extreme issues with the game crashing. The game will freeze, and then there will be a text box on the bottom of the screen. It reads "the script is taking too long. The game will restart." it will the prompt me to save the game, which I don't because if you save the game in the middle of a battle (when it frequently happens) it will fully heal the enemy team while leaving your team in the same state. I have tried removing audio files and all unused text files to speed up the game, but to no avail. It has gotten to the point where it takes hours to beat every gym leader simply because the game will crash. I am starting to wonder if the problem is my laptop (a macbook air). Is there any way to fix this problem? If not, where can I find my save file on mac so I can transfer it to another computer? Thanks.

Do you have battle animations on? I'm also playing on a mac and with them turned off the game runs fine.

Thanks for the reply. Ill try turning them off, but ill miss them :'(.

 

You are my new favorite person. I turned them off and the difference is night and day. I finally managed to beat noel! Thank you so much.

Glad I could help! It is kind of a bummer to not be able to play with them turned on but it's worth it in order to play the game and experience the story!
