Under normal circumstances that means no updates but since today I had to put all my topics in the thread anyways I might as well give you guys some more content. Guess its time to introduce my concept for the rivals of Empire. Like the majority of fan games I've played we are going to have multiple rivals, I'm going to run through them in less detail than I did with Elise in the gym leader concept since this is more of an introduction then me explaining how I decided to create them. Alanah: She is your typical but not so typical "nice" rival. The daughter of Professor Aspen and a battling prodigy she graduated first in her class at the prestigious Telius trainer's academy. When the professor realized war was a likely outcome in Telius he sent his daughter away to the nearby Yoake region to live with her relatives. When she was on the boat heading to Yoake it hit her that she may not ever see her father or region again, but she wasn't alone. Another child was on that boat and their name is (Insert whatever you decide to name your avatar). Over the next two years they became best friends and promised to return to Telius no matter what. North: The hot-header rival. North is the son of a member of the grand council, while many parents tried to send their children out of the region before and during the war North demanded that he be allowed to stay and help. Renowned for his intellect he quickly rose through the ranks of the Yoake mercenaries and became their strategist. After the war he was offered a spot in the elite 4, he declined as he admitted to having no Pokemon or having any actual battle experience, the new champion issued him a simple challenge, become a trainer and surpass me. After hearing those words North began his journey to beat the Telius league. A tactical genius, he doesn't believe he can be beaten. He dislikes any trainer who "ran away" during the war ( that includes you ) Soren: Only recently have rumors appeared about this mysterious figure. Some say they've spotted a hooded figure with a legendary Pokemon on multiple accounts, others say they have seen someone with the same hood perform miraculous acts in small towns in remote areas of the region. So who is he? What kind of power does he posses and what Pokemon has he been seen with? Maybe we'll find out. Link to post Share on other sites

She is going to help you along the way kind of like a May or Dawn, but besides that she's completely different. Since she has a history with the player from before the game actually starts you can probably see all the potential for character growth and potential relationship with the MC. I really like this; it makes the story feel like it has depth and realism. Having Ava and Scarlett in Desolation was a nice addition. I nominate Persian for mega, if I can do so. It's got a lot of potential, but stats and inability to fill a niche hold it back. I 100% second this nomination, and in fact beg for it. I think either mixed or special sweeper would be a bit more fitting since it has access to Nasty Plot and Technician, but physical would be great if it got access to more moves. I also believe that Persian deserves a mega. It is supposed to be Giovanni's favorite pokemon but it's not that good as it is. In some pokemon playthroughs I tried to include a persian in my team... but it didn't last long. It's not like my username, my profile picture on Pokecommunity, my laptop backgrounds, and the stuffed toys I obsessively collect are all based upon Meowth! No way. There are tons of Pokémon that deserve better treatment, especially in Generation 1. Fearow, Butterfree, Arbok, bug types in general... You don't even need to give them a mega, just fix up their stats and give them better moves. Unrelated story time, but Persian was my MVP in Reborn. Fake Out, Fury Swipes, Feint Attack, and I think Roar. Sounds like trash, but I swear that thing could take down Gods. I could even see having "special" recolours for some of these Pokémon, like a pink Butterfree. It could have boosted stats and different moves to compliment the recolour's theme or such. This doesn't have to involve changing its type or anything though, it would simply serve as a way to freshen older Pokémon and give them a bit more of a edge/niche. Link to post Share on other sites

But I don't think the majority of people would like that. @Star Arcana Yea I honestly haven't played many Pokemon fan games and my background comes from more traditional RPG's and tactical games like Fire Emblem, so I intend to bring a lot of features that are prevalent in those games as long as I can make them feel natural in a Pokemon game.
