spidersam639 0 Posted September 4, 2017 Share Posted September 4, 2017 A friend of mine and I have been doing side-by-side runs through Reborn and do "rival" battles with each other online at various points. I'm running through Wine on my computer and they're just running normally on a PC. We've had several successful battles, but sometimes we get stuck on the "Waiting..." message. We just in our last attempt realized that Crit and Flinch chance sometimes get calculated/determined differently for each player. We had like five different battles where we got stuck, and realized that for one of us a move had just critted (sometimes resulting in a KO) or caused a flinch, but for the other of us it hadn't happened. If specific examples are helpful, it happened with Noivern using Air Slash and Ursaring using Shadow Claw, among others. Link to post Share on other sites

This has happened during many of my battles with @Paul25 (which I described in a bug report a few months back---linked below). When either side has a 'lag', whether caused by internet connection or accidentally clicking off at a bad time, these alternate battles occur; they always end in 'Waiting' once one of the mons of our screens faints. We've even had a few cases of completely seperate mons battling when the battle ends (though that is rare). I don't believe we've ever had crits be the deciding factor, though. I imagine running it through Wine emulator might be causing a bit of lag on your end, which seems to lead to these 'alternate' outcomes. Link: Spoiler Link to post Share on other sites
