Game crash on restart [F12] while fullscreen

So, when you press F12, your game is supposed to restart.

However, when you are in fullscreen mode, it crashes instead. It also crashes when you run it as fullscreen, change to windowed and then restart without saving.

Did you mean that "resizing" acts as crashing?

I just get an instant black screen with error and then game exits. It doesn't even resize when I press F12.

My resolution is 1366 x 768 if that helps.

We saw this once before and a little research showed it had to do with having changed out some of the sprites... Have you edited or changed any of the graphic files?

I played the game just as it was unpacked, without changing anything.

I just unpacked the zip into another location and ran it with even fresher files. I got an error: "RGSS Player stopped working". But after few more restarts, it shows again an error from the screenshot.

EDIT:

So, I managed to get a non-crashing fullscreen reset... once. I restarted the game to see if I can reproduce this not-bug, but it crashes again :/

EDIT2:

Ok, it doesn't crash when I restart during battle. Outside battle - it crashes.

I searched fora topic with F12, but didn't find it. So I apologize for making a thread with the same error. Yes, I've been getting the same exact error, and am using an unedited community release of E16.

So as it is right now I don't think we can offer a fix for this. It doesn't happen on all machines, but when it does happen it seems to be a flaw of the engine rather than the game code itself which means our options for affecting are ... almost nil.

Very sorry; if your computer is the type to encounter this issue then it will just have to be something to avoid :c
