During E16's beta testing period, I went through in RPG Maker and noted down all of the relationship points.    A few things of note:   1. The game will not tell you when something

These are the relationship points organized by character. E18 spoilers for: Cain, Victoria, Florinia, Noel, Samson, Charlotte, Ciel, Adrienn, Titania, Hardy, Bennett, Eve, Lumi. Points with asterisks

I'm just gonna leave the ones that I found in a quick search, I may have missed some and I'm not going to check if there are new ones in past episodes since I don't have that much free time. Spoilers

Wait, I thought Shade's and Anna's points will go up if you "don't" fight Taka according to RPG maker. Which is kinda sad, since the dialogue you get when you deny him is just a stab in the heart, but you have to do it to increase Shade's and Anna's mysterious points.

When I checked the points they went up when battling him, with the only points affected by not battling him being Taka's going down. However when speaking to Ame in the Grand Hall in E16, one switch that needs to be on to activate a switch called "Anna Smiles" is not fighting Taka. I do remember being confused by that. Maybe their points were actually intended to go up by not fighting him, and going up by fighting him was a mistake in the beta?

Well, a lot of things can change from the transition from beta to release in any game so that may be highly plausible.

I do remember reporting that in one of the bug reporting threads during beta testing, because I found it odd that in order to activate the switch "Anna Smiles" you needed to not fight Taka, but in order to get a relationship point with Anna you needed to fight him, considering every other switch needed to activate Anna Smiles involved a situation that added a point with her. I assumed the related switch in Anna Smiles was accidentally mixed up, but for some reason I never considered that it would the choice itself that was. Or maybe I just misread it and they've always corresponded correctly. Either way I fixed it in the OP just now.

Ah crud. I really hope these variable points don't do anything too significant cause I ended up battling Taka in order to get all the points with Shade and Anna.

Some have minor dialogue influences. Ame also mentioned they have the potential to be used for late-postgame sidequests, but not to expect too much out of it. Which I assume means not to take the "relationship" part of relationship variable to mean a romantic relationship, since being able to date characters is a suggestion that people have made both seriously and jokingly. Ame also said you'd be able to do these sidequests even if you're not on good terms with everyone, you'd just have to work a little harder.

Also, I have a question. Earlier in the thread, someone listed the relationship variable points in order from where they happen in the story as opposed to by character like I did in the OP. Would people find it more convenient if I organized it in story order? If so, I'll do that. I'd probably have it under spoiler sections going up to each gym badge. Ex: the first section would be up to the first gym, the second would be from first gym to second gym, etc.

I do believe that would be convenient as sometimes it is quite tiring to have to search for the specific character/s who will be giving or revoking points from you. But, I suggest that you keep the character arrangement for people who are already done with the latest update.

I'll do both then. The first post will go by story order and the second will go by character. Since the spoiler lock for E16 is over, I can put the character ones all in one post.

You can also use the first post. Just spoiler the two lists and have labels on both.

That seems like it'd end up being a really long post though :x I'm already in the process of changing the second post from E16 points to points organized by character.

EDIT: Finished, first post organizing by story is next.

Well, that could work too. :)

Where can you find these variable on RMXP?

There's not a specific place where they're all listed. You just have to click on the event tiles for each story event and sidequest until you find them all. It took me 3 days.

Eep... that's tiring. You had to check every dialogue for it.

Found two more points. One is positive and one is negative. They've been added to the OP.

Positive: Cleaning up Beryl Library for the Gothitelle gives you a point with Adrienn.

Negative: If you give the medicine to the injured girl in Chrysolia Forest before you give it to Anna, you lose a point with Noel.

From Samson to Charlotte

  Hide contents

When Charlotte asks if you'd trade her for the ring: Yes = +2 Charlotte, +1 Saphira if your relationship with her is above 0, - Saphira if your relationship with her is below 0, -1 Hardy, No = -2 Charlotte, +1 Hardy

Is that supposed to be -1 Saphira if your relationship with her is below 0? Also, what happens if your relationship is at 0?

Also, can you lose relationship points more than once for losing to gym leaders multiple times?

Yes, you lose a point with her if it's below 0. If it's at 0 too, since the condition for gaining the point is it being above 0.

I don't know if you lose multiple points for losing to Shelly, Kiki, Aya, and Adrienn if you lose more than once. I would assume not, since no other variables can be gained or lost more than once and in the E16 Status Discussion thread, Ame posted a picture of the minimum and maximum of what they could be. There being a minimum implies you can't go under that number.

Found another (negative) point, so the guide has been updated. If you say no when Cal asks if you want a ride down the mountain after defeating Blake, you lose a point with him. (saying yes doesn't gain a point)

So, this means that, if you want to be in Cal's good books, you've got to sacrifice completing unfinished business in Ametrine or you'd have to return there the long way. Wow. That could be a difficult choice. I'm glad I accepted his offer.

Does that situation apply when G.Gardevoir and Radomus offer you to come back to Vanhaven Castle with them after the kidnapping below the Grand Gates?

No, you won't lose any points for choosing not to go with them back to the castle there.

Fixed a typo in the first post. For the one where you tell Kiki you're a new student, I had "+1 Kiki, +1 Cal". Kiki there should be Victoria. There are no relationship points available for Kiki in the game.

EDIT: Also fixed this under "Lose to Kiki", where instead of -2 Victoria I had -1 Kiki (you lose 2, not 1, points with Victoria for losing to Kiki)

I beat Garchomp there, but i fought with Florinia during the raid. (in my previous save)

Something glitched?

That does sound odd. I did a recent playthrough last week and fought him with Julia, so it's not something that changed between E15 and E16. Are you sure you went through all three battles with Florinia, or just the first two? You fight the two Meteor Aces and Fern and Blake with Florinia always, and then if you beat the Garchomp earlier in the game the third battle is with Julia.

Should i battle Taka or not? Is it important to gain points with him, or with Shade and Anna instead?

It's mostly up to you, but I think battling Taka would be better though. EXP, money, and good points with Taka are net from battling him.
