Administrators Amethyst 2466 Posted December 3, 2016 Administrators Share Posted December 3, 2016 This thread is for Line Break Errors, a sporadic text glitch that causes otherwise perfectly innocent lines of text to suddenly jump in vertical spacing as if the enter key were pressed. It can make some dialogues hard to read fully, but frustratingly, is not always consistent between play-throughs. At this time, I am not sure if anything can actually be done about these errors, but I would like to collect as many of them as possible to further investigate. Before posting here, help me out by checking this quick list: Quote - Is the error you found an issue of grammar/punctuation/capitalization/spelling? If so, it should probably go in the Minor Error thread instead. - Unlike other errors, please post your error even if someone else already has. The main reason we have had trouble fixing this is because it does not consistently appear, so if multiple people are getting the same line break error(s), we definitely want to know about it. - Full screenshots are strongly preferred. baldr 32 Posted March 27, 2017 Share Posted March 27, 2017 The amount of errors posted here should be more than enough for testing right? So any progress toward fixing this? By the way the reason why these errors are not always consistent between playthroughs is that many of them only happen with some font but don't happen with other font - because the fonts have different width for some letters. From my testing the FRLG font seems to be most problematic - which is unfortunate because it is otherwise the best font out of the four choices. Link to post Share on other sites

My patch seems to fix most of these cases - more precisely all those that were impossible to reliably reproduce. I know for a fact that I did not fix all the cases. Please report any cases that happen even with my patch applied. (For example the lady in Peridot PokeCenter is still buggy.) You can download the patch here. Just put this into the Data directory of your Reborn E16. It only works for the vanilla Reborn E16, not for mods. Big thanks to Amethyst for her advice how to debug RMXP scripts. She and Marcello already have the change I made so it should be in E17 (unless it causes some other bug). Link to post Share on other sites

Since Baldr is a divine angel sent to us from the heavens above and the ground upon which he walks is blessed, this problem should be resolved. I've gone ahead and taken a pass at the ones that were reported as still being there after the patch, although a couple of those were intentional breaks and hopefully shouldn't be skipping like the others...
