Global Mods Ice Cream Sand Witch 1650 Posted November 22, 2016 Global Mods Share Posted November 22, 2016 Which Totem Pokemon from Sun and Moon was the most difficult for you? For me, it'd be Totem Mimikyu. On attempt 1, I forgot about Disguise and ended up wasting a Z-move because of it (I reset after this happened). I beat it on attempt 2, but it took the most to take down and did the most damage to my team of any of the totems. It's one of only two totem Pokemon that KO'd any of my team, the other being Lurantis. I think Totem Wishiwashi would've had the potential to be the most frustrating for me if I didn't happen to score a critical hit on an Alomomola it called that OHKO'd it, with its next ally being a Wishiwashi that I kept in the battlefield until the totem was beaten. On the other side, Kommo-o was the easiest for me. One Moonblast from Primarina is all it took.
Sr.F 9
Salazzle only for the Corrosion + Venom Drench + Venoshock wombocombo. I was not prepared, and defeated me 2 times.
Guzam 40
I think most would agree that Totem Mimikyu and Lurantis are the hardest, and for various reasons. For one, the two both get really good boosts at the start, Lurantis gets +2 speed which helps because its speed is garbage, and mimikyu getting a boost in everything just makes it even more dangerous. The two are also made more difficult by their backup, but I feel Lurantis utilizes its backup better. In the Lurantis fight, it can call on the help of either a Castform or Trumbeak. Castform can set up Sunny day to give Lurantis turn 1 Solar Blades and powered up synthesis's while also dishing out good damage on its own with headbutt and weather ball. Meanwhile, Trumbeak gets supersonic, rock blast and can easily deal with bulky grass types. Lurantis also has a power herb so it can knock out any water types wheneverit feels like it, but only once unless sun is up. Very dangerous. Mimikyu on the other hand gets the assistance of Haunter and Gengar. Both carry hypnosis and night shade and stuff like sucker punch, lick, shadow punch and shadow ball. However, you may have just noticed, they have nothing to hit normal types if said normal type never attacks. Here's where totem Mimi's problem comes in. If any one player were to stall it out of play roughs and then bring in a normal type and kept spamming a non damaging move so it mimiced it, they would win, easily might i add. The fight can also be cheesed through the use of baby doll eyes about 2-3 times and then bringing in a normal type. Aside from that though, Totem Mimi was the one I struggled the most with, and Lurantis was the second. I may edit this with my thoughts on the others soon. Edit: of course, lurantis could be cheesed by a well-played fire type, but there's no guarantee salandit/torracat etc. can kill it in one shot.
Lucky98 74
Mimikyu. I really didn't expect that thing to hit as hard as it did. Also when I was battling it I completely forgot about its ability and used a Z-move turn 1, wasting it
FlameMasterInfernape 2
yeah for me it was Wishiwashi because it was a Water type plus that I did not have a Sunny day User at the time so it almost destoryed my entire team I only have two pokemon left when I defeat it however I was lucky to that it did not call alomomola and then there Mimikyu I also forgot abort it ability thus I wasted a Z move on this it however Totem Wishiwashi nearly Reck my entire team. Lucky98 74
Whats this I hear? challenge from a main series pokemon game that isn't a champion? The game actually became slightly challenging towards the end with sudden level jumps. I actually had to rely on revives and full restores during the "final challenge"
Masquerain 6
Between Salazzle and Wishiwashi, mostly because of the poison-> venoshock combo of Salandit and Salazzle and because at the time, my team was kind of at best neutral to water and the allies using brine didn't help against Wishiwashi
mde2001 236
I haven't finished the game yet so I won't vote, but I doubt anything is gonna challenge me more than lurantis. My team just really can't handle it at all. My rockruff, mudbray and brionne are all one shotted by solar blade (and outsped), my cutiefly doesn't really do anything, my gumshoos will get knocked out by a combination of solar blade and weather ball. My trumbeak is literally the only mon that does anything but it still gets worn down. Unfortunately I don't have anything to OHKO the castform before it gets its stupid sunny day off. Its a bit of a change as the rest of the totem pokemon were not at all threatening.
The Radiant Aeon 7
Lurantis, probably. Wishiwashi and Mimikyu are also top contenders, but Lurantis lived IO from adamant Growlithe and proceded to to RK and sweep my team. Had to use more revives than AZ could ever hope for. Doesn't help it can sustain itself with sun boosted synth as well. Wishiwashi can be a challenge w/ Heal Pulse support but it wasn't tough per say. Mimikyu can destroy because of Disguise, and it took a few revives to beat it. ps. Totem Kommo-o is trash

If it makes you feel better, my brother already had evolved his Cutiefly by the time he got to Lurantis, so there's a chance that you might have a useful bee instead of a deadweight bee. And if everything else fails, you can always do what Reborn (might) have taught you and use alternatives to the old team of six.
Veterans Azeria 390 Posted November 22, 2016 Veterans Share Posted November 22, 2016 Lurantis, probably. Might have a bit of trouble otherwise but nothing too scary honestly.
DeltaReverie 7
Hardest for me was definitely Totem Lurantis. Damn Sunny Day + Solar Blade combo... Easiest by far was Totem Kommo-o, thanks Primarina :
Monochrome_Complex 116
Easiest for me was Salazzle. One bulldoze from Mudbray took it out instantly. 2nd easiest was Lurantis as I was using salandit. She can't do much to salandit really. Hardest for me was actually Kommo'o. I didn't use the fairy z-move thinking I didn't need it and well...Kommo'o hits HARD. Jangling scales was doing obscene amounts of damage and apparently if you try to disable his moves he cancels it.. I even had Primarina but he was faster and she ended up getting KO'd due to Scizor. He eventually fell to poison and I only had one pokemon left(oricorio). Wishiwashi was 2nd hardest. Had to use some serious tactics to beat it. I think Mimikyu is 3rd hardest. Character OS 0
Mimikyu gave me a lot of trouble (and considering it's Mimikyu I was actually happy about that). I was down to my second-last Pokemon by the time I finally took it down, and if Araquanid went down, Litwick would not have been any good. If it had a competent partner I certainly would have lost (Haunter was so bad that its presence basically had no effect on the battle). Wishiwashi would be second. I actually got wiped out on it once, but I'd put it below Mimikyu because the second attempt I won rather safely. I think it was a design flaw to allow Wishiwashi to summon a non-school Wishiwashi; if that happens the battle would be far easier than it normally should be. I hear that Lurantis is very tough, but Ribombee 2HKO'd it and Araquanid eradicated the Castform it called, so I didn't really get to experience that myself.
Rot8er_ConeX 1
I have three contenders. 1.) Totem Salazzle - I recklessly went into this battle KNOWING I had a team super weak to Fire types, and didn't have any Ground type moves to counter this weakness. I was expecting it to be hard, and it didn't disappoint. I managed to beat it thanks to cheesing with Revives and heal-spamming. By the end of the battle, most of my team was dead. 2.) Totem Lurantis's partner, Castform - the Lurantis itself was easy enough to kill thanks to Flying type moves. But that Castform was surprisingly tanky, and once again evoked my weakness to Fire types. 3.) Totem Mimikyu - I'm glad to know I wasn't the only Decidueye user who made the mistake of using the super effective Sinister Arrow Raid against the Disguise instead of the actual Totem Pokemon. I facepalmed so hard at that that I triggered a funny bone at the bridge of my nose. But I refused to reset at that mistake, and the battle became a challenge because of that. IntSys 106
Wishwashi was hell for me. Who thought that it was a good idea to CONSTANTLY GIVE SCHOOL WISHIWASHI HELPING HAND and GIVE IT AN ALOMOMOLA WITH HEAL PULSE? ...Sorry, gotta let that out of the system. For the record, I did bring Fomantis against Totem Wishiwashi. I had to rely on Growth and some luck to beat it.
Lord Chespin 10
I have PTSD nightmares about Totem Lurantis. I wrote it off as being too weak to harm me, and didn't bring any Pokemon strong against grass to the trial. The end result? It was the first non-fangame Pokemon battle to wipe the floor with me multiple times. I think I only beat it through dumb luck. Totem Mimikyu was probably the second-hardest for me, since it took me two tries, and Totem Kommo-o was probably third, because it almost wiped my team by summoning Scizor (although my Primarina almost OHKO'd it with dazzling gleam). BIGJRA 133
I only voted Wishiwashi over Lurantis because I simply wasn't prepared for the 500+ BST monster with my weak team. It was really challenging for the beginning of the game really. Aaaand maybe I one-shotted Lurantis with Toucannon Beak Blast...
Xiri 101
Probably Lurantis since it probably gave me the most trouble (thank goodness that Castform doesn't have Weather Ball). My Wishiwashi and Alomomola must have been stupid... since it didn't use Heal Pulse or Helping Hand at all;;
YoshiofRedemption 0
For me, I'd say out of every Totem I fought so far, Totem Mimikyu was the hardest. Like a few other people here, I wasted my Z-Move without remembering its ability. Both it and its ally Haunter wrecked half of team and almost took out my fourth team member in the process. Had I remembered its ability and waited to use my Z-Move, that fight probably would have been as easy as Totem Raticate and Totem Wishiwashi were for me.
Norman Guy 9
Definitely Lurantis none of my members of my team could stand up to it. Well I only had Brionne, Charjabug, and a Cubone. I had to resort to grinding my team to the low 30's to evolve my Cubone to Alolan Marowak to just spam Flame Charge and Bone Club until I beat the Castform and Lurantis. Everything else was pretty simple.
pikafan96 14
The Totem Pokemon that I had the hardest time with was definitely Lurantis. I didn't have any Pokemon on my team that had a type advantage, and half of them were actually weak against grass! So I ended up having my Leafeon put it to sleep before having my Brionne lower it's attack with Baby Doll Eyes. Then I just hit it as hard as I could before I ran out of potions and revives But the rest of the Totem Pokemon weren't that bad, my Primarina wiped the floor with Kommo-o
