[Known/Fixed]Custap Berry not working?

I had my Vaporeon hold a Custap Berry for my battle against Skydancer Ciel. I did it because I expected Ciel to quickly push my Vaporeon to red zone and I wanted him to Baton Pass his Acid Armor before fainting. When the situation came up the Custap Berry didn't trigger for some reason. Instead Togekiss was faster and finished Vaporeon before he had a chance to move.

Vaporeon had 65 HP out of 318 which should count as a "pinch" (from what I've read pinch is under 1/3 HP). Togekiss used Aura Sphere which is the same priority bracket as Baton Pass so I believe the Custap Berry should have worked.

I was able to replicate this in several different tests, so it appears that the berry just flat out doesn't work.

I have a vague memory of this being reported before, but it isn't on the bug list and I couldn't see another thread for it. So thanks for reporting!

Pretty sure that this is an Essentials glitch. I was trying to make a trainer have a Custap Forretress in my own PE game yet no luck. The Forretress would always survive via Sturdy but would never activate the berry. So I'd guess this is more of an engine issue.

Lots of bugs reported here are essentials issues. The scripting team fixes errors within the base essentials code.

Hmm... are the fixes contributed into the next version of Essentials or is the team fixing them only for Reborn?

Only for Reborn. I suppose if Maruno wanted them he could ask Ame for permission to use them, but I don't think that happens.
