Now, I've never really been to the Abyss before, but isn't the Abyss about anything other than just kink? Reborn isn't entirely about Rule 7. Rule 7 is only a small, tiny part of a much larger picture, Reborn. I can only urge people to remember what Reborn stands for, and hope we don't pull ourselves away from that by forgetting.
