Pyrous Mountain lava puzzle

I wanted to see what happens if I go to Pyrous mountain without talking to Kiki first. There is this lava puzzle where you need to rock-smash a boulder to let the lava flow off. I was able to get rid of the lava on the floor right above the sea of lava. Next step is to rock-smash the boulder on this floor to get rid of the lava above - from the floor with exit. This however doesn't work - I always get a Magcargo to fight instead of the message about lava channel. This only happens if I try it before talking to Kiki. I've tried again after talking to her and then it works fine.

Maybe it's intentional that I can't get to the Pyrous Mountain peak without talking to Kiki. But it is pretty confusing that the puzzle works only partially. It would be better to have Cain or (wait Cain is on the island at the time right?) Victoria to stop me or something like that.

I'm thinking it's intentional too. Because when I try to go east after beating the first 3 Macargos, the game crashes. It will work after you talk to Kiki though, I'm sure. This ladder will crash your game:

No, it won't anymore at least, if you are playing on the newest version. There was a map left out in the original release of E15 but this was fixed very quickly after the release. Unless if you're playing on that version (which I assume you are given it still crashes for you) you won't encounter any issues because of this.

I'm gonna go ahead and guess that it is intentional since you have little to no reason to get to the peak until Kiki tells you to do so.

Does the Tepig event even activates before Kiki tells you to go to the mountain?

I don't need a reason. There are many location in the game that are not related to the story. Yet I always check them all. ;-)

I didn't see Tepig yet. Only Heatmor on the lowest floor.

It probably is intentional. It just took me a long while to understand what was wrong. A NPC blocking the entrance would be better imho.

It's definitely intentional, because you have nothing to do on Pyrous Mountain's peak until after you've spoken to Kiki.
