Baczoni 0 Posted October 30, 2015 Share Posted October 30, 2015 Hey guys i'm pretty sure flare blitz isn't a priority move so here is the situation i am at my 100+ try beating ciel with a weak team against flying type yea and i use my gardevoir's trick room i switch to scrafty and she takes out talonflame trick room is in effect i use head smash to k o talonflame but that bird uses first flare blitz first and k.os me That's all EDIT: To don't misunderstand i switch to scrafty when gardevoir beats the pokemon before talonflame and the trick room is still in place Link to post Share on other sites

Cause Talonflame's ability Gale Wings give priority to all flying moves making Brave Bird go 1st regardles of Trick Room.I'm saying that cause its a bit weird for the gym leader AI to go for a normal effective move when it has a super effective... :/ Link to post Share on other sites

I probably could test this, but either trick room was not in affect or by some reason the Scrafty outsped the Talonflame (did it run DDance a few times?). Also Flare Blitz probably wouldn't have OHKO'd a Scrafty so the Scrafty had to have some health chipped before taking the Flare Blitz (unless you have like 0 EV and IVs in Defense). Edit: I have tested T-wave on it and Flare Blitz is not a priority move...though I haven't tested it in Trick Room. Link to post Share on other sites

DashingStorm 3 Posted October 31, 2015 Share Posted October 31, 2015 It can't be Flare Blitz. Flare Blitz has no advantages whatsoever in the Big Top Arena field. If you switch from Gardevoir to Scrafty before knocking out her Pokémon, I can understand Talonflame KO'ing your Scrafty on the switch-in, because it'd have used Flare Blitz against Gardevoir that turn.
