Hi PKMN Trainers! Today I say a flaw in ally intelligence in multi battles! When battling with Fern against Team Meteor Aster and Eclipse, Fern's Bedew used giga drain (or was it mega drain?) Screw you Flobot Anyways, although yes it is annoying to have bad AI, it might be the devs way of making the area harder. And Fern automatically restores all your Pokemon so it's not like he's getting all your Pokes killed with stupidity yet Link to post Share on other sites
AuthorReborn 8 Posted October 29, 2015 Share Posted October 29, 2015 Look, the devs know that the AI isn't the best and while they have said that it is possible to fix them, they are instead dedicating their time to actually completing the game before they try to completely rewrite the AI. Bedides, Episode 16 is going to take a hell of a long time on it's own, so I wouldn't hold my breath on them entirely rewriting the AI during the Episode 16 development phase. Maybe its an indirect way of making the enemies seem far superior than the good guys, making our cause seem extra hopeless. Then there's you, the one person who can single handedly tear through entire ranks of Meteor grunts time and time again. I like that image a lot actually, even if it wasn't their intention. I don't think I'd want them to make the change honestly, unless they buff every enemies AI. Just for balance sake Link to post Share on other sites

After I had taken myself and what-its-face out it came down to 4v4 singles Florina vs other-guy and she rolled him! (I may have forgotten the names of who you fight at this point but other-guy was the dude with the garchomp I think, moral of the story still stands though) Link to post Share on other sites

Commander 876 Posted October 29, 2015 Share Posted October 29, 2015 Trust me, I had to spend hours alone messing with moves to work with the AI for the Hardcore mod. AI is not just some simple easy fix a lot of times and trying to do one thing may screw something else up (which is why I dare not touch it for the time being). Let me tell you the number of complaints I get about that specific Aster and Eclipse battle. It's the one battle where the AI is basically crap no matter what you try. I believe what happened is that the change from Version 5 to Version 6 (or whatever the latest version is) caused a hell of a lot more AI problems in 14 especially doubles. If you think it is bad now, it was much, much worse in the 14 Beta (or at least my save was). The current AI isn't that bad, but it does hiccup quite a bit as I call it. As for the partner AI, they are your lifesaver in Hardcore and actually kick ass. Personally, I think they are intentionally made somewhat bad in the official so that they make you have to try and carry your own weight. A lot of the Partner AI is actually good if you adjust their movesets a smidge. There's just some wonkey doubles AI problems that need a bit of fixing. Link to post Share on other sites

I don't remember any field flooding moves if she had them, I didn't see them it might not have been outright attacked. her sandstorm damage finished me off a lot, and she purposely attacked the pokemon I was targeting, instead of the other one which she has a super effective stab move. Its been several months since I've played that part Fair enough on the attacking the wrong Pokemon thats a pain in the bum in just about every game fan and official, and the sandstorm sounds painful I forgot it existed. Its has also been a while since I played that bit and I'm pretty sure I took it down immediately for my sunny weather. Still she wasn't a dumb AI and could have been much worse at least she attacked instead of just spamming status/ self healing moves, Looking at you diamond and pearl!
