[Resolved] Stealing items

Are moves that take opponents items supposed to keep the items after battle? I used Delphox to steal Shade's Rotom's Leftovers in the battle with him, but now she's still holding them long afterwards. And I know you can't get Leftovers at that point in the game, or at all.

I'm pretty sure you should keep them after the battle. Stealing is considered to be an alternative way to get berries from wild Pokémon instead of capturing them. So yes, you should still have access to the leftovers you stole. (I think you can't steal from AI partner Pokémon anymore though.)

I thought that that was intentional to stop us from getting powerful items while still allowing trainers to have them.

No, it's an actual thing in the main series. Don't remember if it started in 4th Gen or 5th, but it is a thing.

What if someone steals an item and the loose the battle?

That might have been the case. I think the OP's Delphox fainted after getting the item through Magician, and there was no check for stolen items on fainted pokémons?

I don't have a save to test that theory, though.

And the most important thing:

Which move did you use to activate Magician's effect?

EDIT: Oh, Flame Charge, forget it...

EDIT2: Just discovered that it doesn't need to be a physical move...

OMG i feel so dumb
