This topic contains all non-minor confirmed bugs as of the date above. If you think you've found a bug, please follow these steps:

  • Make sure your bug is non-minor. Minor bugs consist of Typos and Tile Errors, as well as learnset problems, which should be reported in their designated topic.
  • Check the Common Issues list below. If you see your bug, follow any provided instructions for your issue, and do not make a report.
  • If you do not find your bug in the Common Issues list, expand the Wall o' Bugs below that. Use Ctrl+F to search this page for a keyword relating to your issue. For instance, if your bug relates to Sky Drop, search for Sky Drop in the Wall. If you find your issue on the Wall, there is no need to make a report.
  • If you don't see your issue in the Common Issues section, or on the Wall o' Bugs, the please make a topic about the problem in this forum. Please describe the circumstances, include any error messages that appeared and if you feel it will be helpful, attach your Save File.
  • Please make sure that if you haven't already, to update to Episode 15 prior to posting a Bug Report/Troubleshooting thread. Also, please make sure that you're not playing the Community Release found on the forums (as that's where a lot of bugs occur), but download the official public release for Episode 15 from here; http://www.pokemonreborn.com/game and follow the instructions given on that page.

A struck-through line indicates the error has already been fixed (potentially for the next release).

Common Issues


Long-standing Problems:

  • The game crashes on loading my save file.
    * * * This is usually a corrupted save. Roll back your save file, and post it in the Troubleshooting Forum along with your error message.
  • The game acts like a key is being pressed constantly whenever I'm in a menu.
    * * * This can happen at random, but is easily fixed by restarting your computer.
  • My game froze after I got a "Script is hanging" error.
    * * * This error happens when your computer can't keep up with the game. Avoid running resource-intensive programs alongside the game, and try to limit the Pokemon you keep in a single PC box to about half of the box's capacity. To "Un-stuck" your save file, either roll back your save file, or post it in the Un-stuck Thread.
  • I was running around with a poisoned Pokemon, and after the poison faded away, my game crashed.
    * * * This happens very rarely, but since it is so infrequent we have not been able to replicate it to fix the problem. Chances are it will not happen to you twice, so continue playing from where you last saved, with our apologies.
  • The overworld suddenly became glitchy, with maps and blackness sliding around large chunks of the screen.
    * * * This happens at random, and like the above, we have not been able to replicate it. Unfortunately, we also cannot fix it even with a save file. Some users report it goes away after re-downloading the game, and others report it goes away at random, eventually.
  • Disobedient Pokemon sometimes return a "But there was no target" message when failing to attack, or have bizarre issues in double battles.
    * * * Disobedience is famously glitched, and will be fixed up for E16.

E15 Common Issues:

  • I left the Jasper Water Grid and the water level suddenly raised, making me unable to proceed.
    * * * While this issue was fixed for the Public Release, it still affects any save files that reached this part of the game in the Beta/Community Release. Post your save file in the Troubleshooting Forum and ask someone to lower the water for you.
  • I left the Coral Water Grid and the water level suddenly raised, making me unable to proceed.
    * * * Post your save file in the Troubleshooting Forum and ask someone to lower the water for you.
  • Serra can be re-battled infinitely/Serra crashes the game when talking to her after her battle.
    * * * Refrain from speaking to Serra after completing her gym battle. Also, it is currently my hypothesis that this issue exists only for save files that were carried over from an earlier episode. If you're encountering this problem with a save file started in E15, please post a report indicating so.
  • The story events around the Voclain Estate seem to have stopped working/Nobody is present at the Estate when I need to battle Serra.
    * * * Like the above, I believe this is currently only caused by carrying over a save file from earlier episodes while in a certain part of the story. If you get this error with a save file started in E15, please post a report. Otherwise, post your save file in the Troubleshooting Forum.
  • Serra walks into a wall after being defeated and leaves the player stuck indefinitely.
    This is caused due to the player exiting the dialogue box too soon. Give Serra the time to finish talking and walking around your character sprite before exiting the dialogue box and you'll be good to go.
  • The game crashes when moving to a lower floor in Pyrous Mountain due to a missing map.
    * * * This was fixed in time for the Public Release. Redownload the game to get the missing map file.
  • The game freezes when entering the Opal Ward.
    * * * The game is not frozen, but suffering heavy lag due to the weather system. Be patient and let the game load into the map. This should only happen once a week.
  • The game crashes when using the Store option in the PC.
    * * * Avoid using the Store option in favor of other organization methods.
  • The game crashes after clicking the Books?Books! tile in the Grand Hall.
    * * * Uh... yeah, sorry about that. Don't click there. Reload the game from your last save, or quicksave and post your save file in the Troubleshooting Forum.
  • Cancelling an item use turns the battle background black
    * * * This produces script errors but won't necessarily crash the game... It'll look and behave weirdly though. Try to avoid cancelling an item use once you've selected to do so
  • Using Revive in a double battle with one Pokemon left... in short, sucks.
    * * * Don't do that, just for now.



Wall o' Bugs

  • Sucker Punch is all kinds of broken.
  • Speed-lowering effects sometimes display the message of Sticky Web. (Keywords: Bulldoze)
  • Phantom Force/Shadow Force/Feint currently do not break Protect. (Keywords: Detect, King's Shield, Spiky Shield, Mat Block)
  • The game may fail to ask for a new Pokemon when a Pokemon dies to entry hazards (Keywords: Stealth Rock, Spikes)
  • The region map cursor travels too far to the right.
  • There are some capitalization issues when referencing "The wild Pokemon" mid-sentence.
  • Illusion has many inconsistencies. (Keywords: U-turn, Volt Switch)
  • Soundproof does not affect Disarming Voice
  • Sky Drop will cause Pokemon to remain in the air if it fails.
  • It is possible to get stuck in the Lapis Water Grid by pushing the two junk piles in the bottom right, up toward the exit to the right.
  • Event dialogue repeats when re-entering the Obsidia Park (Keywords: Amaria, Amy, Florinia, PULSE, ZEL, Tangrowth)
  • The Celestinine 3F Puzzle may have a potential freeze (Keywords: Boulder, Ice)
  • Taka's Aerodactyl illegally has Acrobatics
  • It is possible to skip a story part in the Coral Water Grid by walking up a platform.
  • It is possible to get trapped in the Fiore Mansion if the player has no Common Candy.
  • Teleport, Escape Ropes, and Fly, lead to weird places.
  • Fly is incorrectly usable.
  • It is possible to pass through Agate City before beating Radomus. (Keywords: Cain, Gate, Nidoking, Circus)
  • The Baltoy event has illegal egg moves.
  • It is possible to crash the game by going through text too fast when Heather is taken to the Orphanage. (Keywords: Shelly)
  • It is possible to carry the Murkwater Surface field along with the player after losing to the Swalot.
  • It is possible to break the jump events in the Obsidia Slums when leaving via an Escape Rope. (Keywords: Dig, Teleport)
  • Belch does damage even when it fails.
  • Heal Block ends too early
  • U-Turn and Volt Switch process held items and contact abilities at the wrong time. (Keywords: Life Orb)
  • U-Turn and Volt Switch still activate when the move fails.
  • Assist has trouble with party Pokemon having fewer than four moves.
  • Fury Cutter's base power cap is out dated.
  • Circle Throw/Dragon Tail activate contact abilities for the incoming Pokemon
  • Two Turn Attacks don't make sprites disappear (Keywords: Fly, Bounce, Dig, Shadow Force, Dive, Phantom Force)
  • Fling does not force berries to take effect
  • Smack Down allows Pokemon knocked out of Fly/Bounce to pick a new attack
  • V-Create does not cause allies to lose HP.
  • Helping Hand does not fail if the partner has already moved.
  • Feint does not account for Wide Guard, Quick Guard, King's Shield and Spiky Shield
  • Snatch does not fail if used last in the round
  • Heal Block does not stop both sides from recovering from Grassy Terrain
  • Pursuit does not interrupt U-Turn/Volt Switch
  • Pluck/Bug Bite do not consume berries or activate Cheek Pouch
  • Embargo does not prevent trainers from using items
  • Round's messages are incorrect
  • Gravity's fade message is incorrect
  • Gravity does not negate Fly/Bounce on the turn it is used
  • Future Sight/Doom Desire calculate damage on use instead of use.
  • Future Sight/Doom Desire should take type into account.
  • Me First is currently broken.
  • Round is not properly altering priority.
  • Retaliate is currently broken
  • Quash is currently broken
  • After You is currently broken
  • Electrify does not effect status moves
  • Forest's Curse and Trick or Treat change types entirely rather than adding a third.
  • Wide Guard can display a message twice
  • Ingrain may be bugged
  • Heal Block does not stop absorption moves' and Shell Bell recovery (Keywords: Mega Drain, Absorb, Giga Drain, Drain Punch, Parabolic Charge, Oblivion Wing, Draining Kiss)
  • Flash, etc display their animation on the incorrect target (Keywords: Smokescreen, Sand Attack)
  • Flame Charge produces a sprite glitch
  • Torment can create an infinite battle glitch when used against two-turn attack opponents
  • Electrify is currently broken
  • Ion Deluge is currently broken
  • Double Kick is sometimes interrupted by a contact abilitiy
  • Mirror Move us currently broken
  • Pursuit asks to switch in a Pokemon twice on KO
  • Trick or Treat and Forest's Curse are currently broken
  • Spit-up is currently broken
  • Flamethrower does not defrost a frozen user
  • Safeguard displays incorrect fade messages
  • Dragon Tail does not end the wild battle if the user is a higher level
  • OHKO Moves display redundant messages against higher level Pokemon (Keywords: Sheer Cold, Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill)
  • Conversion2 is currently broken
  • Present's Heal effect crashes the game
  • Spiky Shield damages opponents using Sucker Punch
  • Multi-hit moves don't stop if the user falls asleep mid-attack (Keywords: Effect Spore, Double Kick, Triple Kick, Tail Slap, Double Slap, Tail Sweep, Fury Attack)
  • Echoed Voice increases in power even when the attack fails
  • Nature Power checks for hits multiple times
  • Metronome checks for hits multiple times
  • Sleep Talk is currently broken, and also checks for hits multiple times
  • Solar Beam displays the charge animation on its target
  • Me First does not increase the move's power
  • Defrosting Moves do not defrost when hitting a frozen target (Keywords: Scald, Flamethrower)
  • Body Slam and Phantom Force do not always hit + double damage against a minimized target
  • Clear Body and Hyper Cutter prevent self-inflicted reductions
  • Trace does not work with Regenerator/Natural Cure or transformed abilities
  • Contrary does not apply to Gooey and Intimidate
  • Infiltrator should bypass Mist, Safe Guard and Misty Terrain
  • Regenerator shuffles sprites and activates at inappropriate times
  • Arena Trap affects Flying Types
  • Overcoat does not resist Powder Attacks
  • Magic Bounce is not reflecting Hazards
  • Magic Bounce is incorrectly protecting the user's ally's.
  • Absorption abilities should affect status moves (Keywords: Thunder Wave, Spore, Sap Sipper, Motor Drive, Lightning Rod, Water Absorb, Dry Skin, Flash Fire)
  • Imposter always chooses a target diagonal from the user in double battles
  • Delta Stream is broken
  • Parental Bond has misplaced print commands, activates when multiple opponents are hit, and has an incorrect interaction with Dragon Tail, Circle Throw, U-Turn and Volt Switch
  • Protean does not properly change to reflect Hidden Power type
  • Intimidate does not activate Defiant/Contrary/Competitive
  • Simple displays incorrect stat messages
  • Intimidate displays redundant messages
  • Sturdy can display its message more than once per turn
  • Air Lock displays an incorrect message
  • Unnerve does not display text at opening
  • Moody can freeze the game if it cannot find a stat to raise or lower
  • Weather abilities activate even if their weather is already up (Keywords: Sun, Rain, Sand, Hail, Sunny Day, Rain Dance, Sandstorm, Snow Warning, Sand Stream, Drought, Drizzle, Delta Stream, Primordial Sea, Desolate Land)
  • Aura Abilities take effect whenever their bearer is in the party (Keywords: Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Fairy Aura, Dark Aura, Aura Break)
  • Normalize does not affect status moves (Sorry Dan) (Keywords: Thunder Wave)
  • Defiant/Competitive display redundant messages
  • Desolate Land does not negate water attacks
  • Primordial Sea does not negate fire attacks
  • Type Berries do not display messages when activating (Keywords: Yache, Rindo, Chillan, Berry)
  • Binding Band may be broken
  • Type Gems only boost power for the first target hit
  • Lagging Tail is broken
  • Oran Berry activates at the wrong time
  • Stat-Raising Berries do not display stat-up animations (Keywords: Salac, Petaya, Berry, Liechi)
  • The Enigma Berry is broken
  • The Jaboca and Rowap berries are broken
  • The Kee and Maranga berries are broken
  • Berries activate at the end of turns instead of when HP drops
  • Cotton Candy should only restore half max HP
  • Quick Ball works on outdated mechanics
  • Persim Berry does not cure self-inflicted confusion
  • PP Items consume a turn when they fail
  • Hitting self in confusion consumes PP
  • Flinches acquired during sleep sometimes apply on waking
  • Ghost types are not always able to run away from battles (Keywords: Flee)
  • Sound moves do not hit through substitutes
  • Team Preview is currently missing between KOs
  • Double battles while the player only has one active Pokemon will crash the game or start as single battles even with a partner (Keywords: Fern, Double Battle)
  • Pokemon that ignore orders sometimes still use the selected attack
  • When a trainer sends out a Pokemon, the nickname displays instead of the species name
  • Starting battle animations are currently un-optimized
  • HP reduction animation sometimes lingers from taking an attack int otaking poison damage
  • When two of the same species are sent out sequentially in doubles, one's sprite displays off the screen
  • Strong winds currently prevents weather changes even without Delta Stream
  • Glitch Field offense/defense multiplier swap is currently done imporperly
  • Electric Terrain currently does not prevent Sleep
  • Undiscovered Egg Group Pokemon currently do not always have 3 perfect IVs
  • Surf Speed is too low
  • The player fishing animation does not display
  • Backsprites display too low on the Pokedex
  • Karrablast and Shelmet still evolve even if holding an Everstone.
  • In case of Self Switch D when Rage Powder is not held and page 2 of a Crustle Event is active pbPushBoulder will stop working. (Crustles occasionally stop Crustling)
  • The TM pocket shuffles by ID sometimes
  • The surfing reflection displays too low.
  • Egg moves do not take priority over level moves when breeding.
  • Eggs inherit the moves parents currently have instead of the moves they had when entering the daycare
  • Music does not always play after hatch screen
  • Money gain calculation is outdated.
  • Money lost calculation is outdated
  • The Pokedex Form Page does not consistently update the icon at the bottom
  • Duplicated Pokemon share alterations to their moves (Keywords: Shedinja, Ninjask, Nincada)
  • Search Results in the Pokedex return the Caught number sometimes and the Seen number others.
  • The Pokedex Search does not include Fairy Type.
  • Using Beat Up while being partnered with another Trainer will cause the move to hit up to a maximum of 12 times and glitches the animations after the 6th hit. (Keywords: Beat Up)
  • Mirror shatter and Cave collapse effects don't fully KO Pokemon
  • Multihit moves fail to display type messages when KOing their target. (Keywords: Bullet Seed, Fury Swipes, Tail Slap, Double Slap, Water Shuriken, Spike Cannon, Icicle Spear, Rock Blast)
  • Only one of the opposing Pokemons' cries will play when entering a double battle
  • Sand Tomb crashes when used on the Burning Field
  • Guard Spec is broken
  • Cherrim fails to revert to Overcast form when Flower Gift/Sun ends
  • Full Heal fails to cure confusion
  • Field Effect events fail to fully KO Pokemon (Keywords: Cave, collapse, Mirror, shatter, Corrosive)
  • Double battles load as single battles if a player only has one healthy Pokemon
  • Forced double battles crash when loading with only one Pokemon
  • Secondary effects hit through substitutes when they break
  • Acupressure's is mis-targetted in doubles
  • Iolia Valley sometimes displays a black background when surfing
  • Magic Coat does not reflect hazards
  • Abilities don't absorb secondary attack types from fields (Keywords: Lightning Rod, Motor Drive, Storm Drain, Water Absorb, Flash Fire, Dry Skin, Sap Sipper)
  • Struggle uses an incorrect animation
  • When cancelling item usage an incorrect message is displayed
  • Smokescreen's animation is mis-targetted
  • Scrolling through the summary screen in PC boxes that aren't full may cause a script hang
  • Rest lasts 3 turns instead of 2
  • Crystal Cavern will never roll psychic type damage
  • Sunny Day currently does not change Dark Crystal Cavern to Crystal Cavern
  • Healing Wish does not fully faint the user
  • Aromatic Mist is broken
