Etesian 8
So I was doing that side-quest with the Spinel Museum, the 2 grunts that fight you in Tanzan Mountain in a double-battle. One of them used Stealth Rock. After something fainted, I sent out Charizard, which died immediately to Rocks (field effect, nothin' wrong with that). But after that, I wasn't asked to send something in again, at any point. So it turned into a 2v1 even though I still had alive Pokemon in the back.
DashingStorm 3
..Holy shit, were you stuck in an infinite loop that wouldn't let you send out any other Pokémon when your Charizard fainted? And did the game actually progress normally with your the Pokémon active? (assuming you had another active Pokémon at the time)
Etesian 8
The battle kept going, just as a 2v1 since I still had one Pokemon out. I didn't think of trying to switch out the remaining Pokemon and nothing else fainted after that, so I don't know if it would've fixed itself like that. I assume the prompt to send something in after fainting doesn't get triggered in doubles after something faints to hazards?
DashingStorm 3
I'm fairly certain hazards aren't calculated as a string to trigger the next sequence to send out another Pokémon if it faints due to an entry hazard. Someone once posted a thread where they actually lost a battle due to Aya (I believe) sending out something that died to the hazards, but the player ended up losing the battle instead of winning. Basically, entry hazards like Spikes/Stealth Rock aren't calculated in this chain of events post-fainting. Something missy Poptart or Dan should prooooooobably look into..
