Omega_Ra1der 4
When I revived gyarados with a cotton candy and it was on the far right corner in my party menu but it wasn't in battle, 2 heat waves came and ko it even it wasn't in the battle.
Vinny 27
I do know that the order in the Pokémon Menu doesn't always reflects the battle itself. Anyway, let me ask: Was Gyarados and your other poké (Whatever it was...) your last two pokés?

Vinny 27
I'm pretty sure that there is a bug in Double battles, that occurs when you have only one pokémon standing. If you revive a pokémon, the game will send it out immediately. The sprite might not show up however, and that's why you thought Gyarados wasn't in battle, when it actually was. I'm gonna go ahead and guess this is an essentials problem, not a Reborn one. I'm going to ask Ame/Dan/Jericho to check this later anyway.
DashingStorm 3
I'm gonna go ahead and guess this is an essentials problem, not a Reborn one. Pretty sure it is an Essentials problem, key note that this also happens when you have Double battles with other trainers/gym leaders/hordes, their sprites also "disappear" when they only have 1 Pokémon left (when they just semi-faint and float under the map until the battle is over, which is basically what happens after you use a Cotton Candy/Revive/Max Revive on a Pokémon when you have 1 Pokémon sent out in battle). I believe this to be the case.
